So, I assume most Red Sox fans want to see the following:
Blue Jays take the division
Twins and Tigers take the WC
Houston wins the WS

One of everybody's favorite expressions of the century, though: "he took it to another level" this year.NDame616 said:
He hit 24 and 28 HRs the past 2 seasons. I don't think it has to do with them scouting power hitters.....they made a good deal and he's better this year than last, but it isn't like they found a 22 year old off the scrap heap and he blossomed into a power hitter
That's baseball, but what's gotten into the Phillies?soxhop411 said:Wow... Phi scoring off Greinke
Phi fans who wanted the number 1 pick are pissed (few of my friends are Phi fans)Al Zarilla said:That's baseball, but what's gotten into the Phillies?
To be fair to Yost, Ryan Madson is not a middle reliever. If he was on the Sox, he'd be the #2 setup guy after Tazawa.E5 Yaz said:Royals yost one away today, use middle relief in the bottom of the 9th in a tie game at Detroit ... two batters later, ballgame.
Saving the closer for extra innings is useless if you never make it out of the ninth

That's the most exciting team to come around in baseball in a while, IMO.jon abbey said:Carlos Correa is unbelievable, just blasted a 2 run HR to deep left center in OAK in the 8th to put HOU up 3-2.

isn't the rule the run counts as soon as he touches the plate and the runner touches 1st?jon abbey said:
Yeah, I came here to try to describe it:
Tie game, bottom 10, bases loaded for ARI, one out. Ball is hit over the CF's head, hitter touches first, guy on third touches home, but the other two runners start celebrating before getting to the next bag, and never get anywhere close. At the same time, for some reason, instead of the CIN CF retrieving the ball, he has a grounds crew guy throw it to him (???) and then he throws it from there, so who the hell knows. They are in replay now.

Zedia said:The runners left the base paths before the security guard got involved, shouldn't they both be out? Although I guess, then it's no longer a force play and the run scores?
jon abbey said:
No, because if it was a grounder to third (for example) and they got forces at third and second, it wouldn't matter when the other runners touched home and first.
I noticed that too, but once the security guard touches it , the ball is dead. It shouldn't matter what happens after that.jon abbey said:Oh, wow. So it might be that since the Reds tagged second before tagging third, they removed the force play at third, and then the run counts. That is the explanation that makes the most sense that I've seen so far.
