How the hell did Rivero time that perfectly to catch the ball while his foot was on first for about half a second. Amazing play.

Did the girl in the pink dress create her own seat right behind home plate during the Royals/Angles game?  Not that I am complaining that she is going to be on camera all night...

The Giants just used Bumgarner as the first pinch hitter in a one run game in the 7th, and he got a hit.  It wasn't a bunting situation either.
Bruce Bochy - baseball savant.

This Cubs team is very fun to watch, coming back tonight from 6-2 down against the Tigers on a 3 run blast by Schwarber (1.003 OPS) and an RBI single by Rizzo, now tied at 6 in the 8th.

And then Pedro Strop melts down like he was in Yankee Stadium again, 9-6 DET now.

Michael Taylor of the Nats hit the longest HR in the majors this year at 493 feet.

I would love to see the HRD in Coors Field.... Would we see multiple 500 FT HR's?

The Nats are promoting Trea Turner. How'd that deal work out for you, San Diego?

Worst GM in baseball, so clearly over his head. He reminds me of David Kahn's Timberwolves reign, both bold and idiotic.

With Santiago at 40 pitches and 4 BB in the first, victorino whiffs on a sliding catch leading to two more runs. I can't remember him misplaying anything in 2013. He was in LF tonight

Who was the last team to be no hit and win the World Series in the same year?

“@ktsharp: Don’t worry Dodgers fans. Last team to be no-hit in regular season and then win World Series was … 1988 Dodgers.”

What an awful trade, the Padres didn't even get a player in return!

On December 19, 2014, the Padres reportedly agreed to trade Turner to the Washington Nationals as a player to be named later as part of a three-team trade, in which the Padres traded Jake BauersBurch Smith, and René Rivera to the Tampa Bay Rays and Joe Ross to Washington, and Washington traded Steven Souza and Travis Ott to Tampa Bay

Side bar, but Wikipedia sports pages are literally the worst things on earth if you want to learn anything about anything.

If by some miracle Cespedes gets another AB in this game, with a HR he would tie Shawn Green for the most TB in a game with 19.

It would also be the first time a 4 HR game and a no hitter happened on the same day.

You should post this in a few more threads.

Only seven teams in the AL have positive run differentials. Their rank in the standings: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and the last place Oakland A's.

Chris Rusin gave up 8 doubles in 2+ innings which is a Rockies record for doubles allowed (still no outs in the 3rd at this time).  The record for Mets doubles in a game is 10.

Toronto outscores Anaheim 36-10 for the weekend.  The most number of runs given up by the Angels in a three game series in franchise history.

They're early '70s throwbacks they wear only on Sundays. And they do look great.

In a related thought, Jung Ho Kang was a great signing.

Tito's guys have not run on Lester at all. I can't understand why all teams don't run on him all the time.

And the Indians tie the game 1-1 with two outs in the 9th. Schwarber has K'd 4 times today and looks like a pretty bad left fielder. Maybe they can slow down the engraving of his HOF plaque.

He is a catcher playing LF out of necessity and is STILL a better LF than Hanley.

Bryant wins it with a walk-off HR.

I ask my Cubs-fan friend all the time how he can ever support a rule set that makes a guy like Schwarber look so silly or takes him away from us all together.  Up the DH.

David Wright homered in his first at-bat returning from injury

Unfortunately, DeGrom has had one of his worst starts ever, and is gone after giving up 7 runs (on 3 HRs) in 2.2 IP.

Harvey might not be the only one getting a start skipped this week...

David Wright murdered that baseball.

He has such a pretty swing, which isn't something people say too much about RHH.

Bumgarner's off to a good start today -- 6 outs, 6K's. Couple hits already and a long second inning so he probably won't go too deep, though.

9 Ks through 4, but his pitch count is going to keep him from going 9 (chance for 20). 18 Ks in a game still has a nice ring to me though.

11 through 5, but 87 pitches. Probably two more innings if they are quick, but that means he won't be racking up the Ks. Either way, between this and his shutout 14K performance a few weeks ago, Bum's definitely in a good way right now.

A Bumgarner start has to be worth at least 2X any other Giants pitcher's start right now. Would be to me, anyway.

And Bum is out of the game!

Bizarre! Oh well.

Also, the fascination the Giants announcers have with this Virgin America seating section today is really bizarre. And pretty creepy as they keep focusing on this one woman. Way to go, guys.

“@Buccigross: Miguel Sano’s 3rd-inning double was calculated at 425 feet and would have been a HR at all 30 MLB ballparks had it not hit the catwalk”
