Maybe you mean TBS's pregame is generally useless, but Is Pedro wrong in his assessment of Diaz? I don't think so.
Sorry not to be clear. The pre-game is bad, b/c they mostly talk about eating pizza. Within all that, Pedro Martinez made some perceptive comments, with which I agree, about the poor umpiring. I agree, but mlb may/may not like it.

OK about the pregame, and the Fox one is pretty useless too, except for ARod, believe it or not. Similar to what Pedro said, one of my favorite announcer calls ever was Duane Kuiper declaring Angel Hernandez completely incompetent as a major league umpire. Obviously, Angel had made some terrible calls that were not in favor of the Giants.

This kid Lindor, ain't he something? Also, while I quickly became bored by the pre-game talk of pizza, I am getting a real yen for lasagna since they featured Mrs. Lindor's recipe earlier.

That Miller trade was truly a game changer for Cleveland.
And will unfortunately help the Yankees. But he was a FA, would Boston have signed him even if they hadn't traded him?

And Erod is working on being a great return.

Any time people say Cherington did a good job... yes he grew the farm, but he was too stubborn on that side. Didn't keep Miller, Lester and signed the wrong FAs in Sandoval and Hanley (at the time)

How much of this is on ownership we'll never know, but...

Yes, it will help the Yankes but for the Indians, it was an excellent GFIN trade and their farm system is still pretty good.

Agreed.

My point was that I don't know if Boston was willing to pay him what the Yankees offered when he was a FA.

So, I don't know if the advertising is the same nationwide, but I get about one dating service ad an inning -- targeted mostly at men. Isn't the gender demo for MLB playoffs like 70/30 or 75/25? Unless they are also advertising during figure skating, I'm thinking their match numbers are pretty low.

All of those services have very, very low ratios and match rates. Ashley Madison had to pay women to interact with customers, and other sites have to offer "free" membership and other perks to women - and still, the numbers and the ratios do not match up.

Maybe they realize you need love, are sad and lonely and living in your parent's basement?

I'm not getting anything like that. "But if you want to sing out, sing out." I get that commercial every half inning. And Axe Black, too. I've seen that a ton. ToMAHto.

That's funny. And not that surprising. But it never would have occurred to me until I noticed they were advertising so heavily during sports.

I get farmers only and real curves nonstop. Maybe they are targeting me directly? I can't farm, but I do have some curves.

Well, it was nice to see that it wasn't just the Red Sox that Tomlin could stymie

It's amazing to me you're getting those commercials at 6pm EST during a baseball playoff game. Those commercials are on like MTV at 4:30am.
It's three hours earlier here, but yeah. I think there is like one 30 second local spot maybe each inning? I get Tom-ah-toe too, and viagra, and then real curves.

I don't get pulling Tomlin here.
I wondered whether the third time through the heart would be one too many. But once he got through the first two, I thought Tito would let him get out of the inning.

Tulo's been swinging well, though; so maybe the thought was, let Tulo see a different delivery this time
