I will be in attendance for the first time in a long time. Berrios vs TBD. 4:10 start on FS1. I like TBD in this one, I think the shadows will help him. On this day, Bernie Carbo and Bobby Kielty were born.

Game 110
The Jays won game one. It was over pronto.
The dream we’d pass them this weekend is gone, though
this isn’t a sprint, it’s a marathon, so
the race can still have a great denouement. Go
out there today and gain ground on Toronto.

I thought Story was getting activated today?

VLADIMIR: Did you not hear what the child said?
ESTRAGON: No.
VLADIMIR: He said that Godot was sure to come tomorrow. (Pause.) What do you say to that?
ESTRAGON: Then all we have to do is to wait on here.
VLADIMIR: Are you mad? We must take cover. (He takes Estragon by the arm.) Come on. (He draws Estragon after him. Estragon yields, then resists. They halt.)
ESTRAGON: (looking at the tree). Pity we haven't got a bit of rope.
VLADIMIR: Come on. It's cold. (He draws Estragon after him. As before.)
ESTRAGON: Remind me to bring a bit of rope tomorrow.
VLADIMIR: Yes. Come on. (He draws him after him. As before.)
ESTRAGON: How long have we been together all the time now?
VLADIMIR: I don't know. Fifty years maybe.
ESTRAGON: Do you remember the day I threw myself into the Rhone?
VLADIMIR: We were grape harvesting.
ESTRAGON: You fished me out.
VLADIMIR: That's all dead and buried.
ESTRAGON: My clothes dried in the sun.
VLADIMIR: There's no good harking back on that. Come on. (He draws him after him. As before.)
ESTRAGON: Wait!
VLADIMIR: I'm cold!
ESTRAGON: Wait! (He moves away from Vladimir.) I sometimes wonder if we wouldn't have been better off alone, each one for himself. (He crosses the stage and sits down on the mound.) We weren't made for the same road.
VLADIMIR: (without anger). It's not certain.
ESTRAGON: No, nothing is certain. (Vladimir slowly crosses the stage and sits down beside Estragon.)
VLADIMIR: We can still part, if you think it would be better.
ESTRAGON: It's not worthwhile now. (Silence.)
VLADIMIR: No, it's not worthwhile now. (Silence.)
ESTRAGON: Well, shall we go?
VLADIMIR: Yes, let's go. (They do not move. Cut.)

I hope that was a copy and paste post.

Red Sox injury notes:
* Story will play for WooSox today and tomorrow. Red Sox will re-assess after. Monday or Tuesday possible.
* Houck goes today for WooSox, Sale tomorrow. Seems likely to be Sale's last rehab outing.
* Nothing new on Kluber, who remains shut down.

It could just be an injury today, but my theory on Verdugo’s struggles the last few weeks is that it’s related to the family member that died in late June when he went on the bereavement list.

If it comes down to it, winning just one hand in this series wouldn’t fully kill them. But need to treat the next two as must-wins.

Really don’t get the Story thing, but whatever.
I guess I'll be a caveman about this. You're being paid $20,000,000 a season, your team is having it's most important series of the year, and you're well enough to play . . . in Worcester? What the hell, man.

Maybe that pickoff yesterday had something to do with it? He doesn’t look very focused recently

Get me a club, because I'm a caveman, too. It's really, really disappointing that he's not here.

Trevor Story will DH for Worcester today in Syracuse and play shortstop tomorrow. The Woo Sox are off Monday. The clock runs out on Story's 20-day rehab assignment on Wednesday, so presumably he will return to the Sox at some point next week.

I totally concur with this. I really don’t get this “pay me $20,000,000 a year and I want to spend as much time as possible in the low pressure rehab when my team could really use me” stuff. Look at Sale as a comparison he would have come back without rehab if they let him. While I fully understand that would have made no sense with Sale it is a sense of urgency that i really wish Story shared.

They might figure if he goes for the big club, Story goes hundred percent on everything, running , throws, etc. and might screw up something that's not quite right. ml team he can go 90% and no worries.

The other thing is, I'm willing to leave it up to the doctors, coaches and the manager.

Smart getting all that out of the way in the 1st.
