What am I, a trained monkey? (yes, I guess I am)

Ort is .938 against lefties & .775 against righties.

Duran is .619 against lefties & .870 against righties (66 wRC+ against lefties, 134 against righties).
Thanks. Sorry to take advantage of your superior stats look-up skills.
Plus: I'm lazy and already multi-tasking.

I agree, but time is an issue here. We get these guys when? After the ASB? We get swept by Texas, and have two bullpen starts against the A's. Judging by this bullpen, that won't go well, even against Oakland. It sends us to the All-Star break below .500.
Joely should be back like tomorrow. Schreiber around the 15th. Bleier has had 1 rehab game, so might be a few days.

Signing people from other leagues & trying to throw them into the Majors before then probably won't be that successful either.

I'm looking forward to the BEAR CLAW era, though.

Just call the game and we’ll get them tomorrow

this looks like heavy rain
Lots of gnarly yellow and red shit on the radar northwest of the city, between 495 and 128. Even if the Sox don’t run out of outs, they may run out of time.

On the game thread the other day somebody suggested getting a couple of arms from the Mexican League.

Garza and Ort just blow. We have NOBODY in Worcester. How about it?

Let's start our shopping:

This dude Nivaldo Rodriguez has a 2.67 ERA in 70 IP, 66 K, 16 BB.

Maybe Luis Marquez could be the next El Guapo. 5'9" 262-pound lefty reliever. 1.95 ERA, 27 IP, 29 K, 5 BB.

Red Sox World Champion Hector Velazquez is playing for Yucatan, but struggling.

Hamilton is SO not ready to play in the majors-- he needs to go back down pronto, hopefully after this game. He looks like 2022 Jarren Duran in all facets.
Swap him for Chang and at least we'd have a SS who can field. None of them can hit, so might as well go with the guy who can field the position.

Bring in Turner for 3B in the top of the 9th. I don’t want Devers to play the field in this slop

They haven't found anyone who can field the position....

Hard to believe we ever had the lead in this game. Guess we were lucky to get a run off the great Dane Dunning-Kruger.

Rain is supposed to end by 7pm. Wonder if they’ll resume play.

Hamilton will almost certainly be sent down once CHang is ready, yes. (Although I wouldn't mind a Hernandez DFA...)

Rangers broadcast bringing up a good point. If this delay goes, say, an hour or more and they resume play... does the pitcher they just brought in, who only got a few warmup pitchers, still have to pitch to 3 batters, or can they put someone else in?

I see what you did there, because I am absolutely awesome at message-boarding.

Saw some people saying Dugie should get the All-Star nod to fill-in for an injured OF.

Welp, it was Kyle Tucker who got the spot. Yet another time he breaks Sox fans' hearts.

The Haikus had a solid run, but writing verse is more fun.

Not sure if I’ll have wi-fi by the time today’s gamethread gets started.

Will @DeadlySplitter , @JohnnyTheBone , or some other kind member, please post this for me?

Game 87
The Red Sox lost to the Rangers.
It’s hard to avoid such dangers,
pitching a whole bunch of strangers.
We need some kids born in mangers
or Potters, Weasleys, and Grangers
to conjure us some game-changers.
