LynnRice75's poem for today's 1:35:

Game 86
Not content with one,
Double Duran seeks second,
Hungry like a wolf.

A mallard mailman,
Devers always delivers
the ducks on the pond.

Saturday’s missile.
Sunday’s big go-ahead bomb.
Dugie’s Mr. Right.

A win in 3-D.
Duran, Devers, and Dugie.
Celebrate the 4th.

Texas is my "second team" this year, mainly because I get all their games on cable and the Rangers are winning for the first time in a long time. The Rangers' offense is more consistent than their pitching (lead the league in runs, batting average, and on-base percentage), so they often win by just out-scoring their opponents. But, they have been on a bit of a slide lately, winning only three of their last ten games.

Seems like a potential wash out. Or at least delays. Debating whether I want to make the 2 hour drive or not.
I think it’s just drizzle - miserable
They’re playing this one but yeah could be delayed

But hey, free meter parking should be plentiful

Could be a pain to get back (fireworks traffic due to road closures )

Dane Dunning, the starter, was a mediocre innings-eater until this year. This year he's getting by on an extraordinarily low HR/FB ratio, low BABIP, and very low strand rate. He's a lead pipe candidate today, I think

Call made. Not spending my 4th in 4 hours of round trip trip traffic, for the pleasure of delays and a possible ppd. Which of course means there won’t be a drop in Boston. C’est la vie. Go Sox!

My second AL team this year. I almost never have a second AL team. Reason I like them is Bruce Bochy, who managed my best second overall team, the Giants, through their best patch ever. That said, leave old Bruce scratching that giant melonhead of his after each game.

Drizzling in Brookline on the T inbound. First game in 22 years. I’m expecting to sit in the rain. Hopeful but not optimistic about staying reasonably dry

Same. Tickets weren’t super expensive at least, so we’ll eat the loss.

I live in TX but can’t (and never did) like any TX teams. Any sport. I even hate UT…. And the stupid local soccer team. West division favorites have always been the A’s… even when they were clobbering the living shit out of the Sox back in the Roid rages era

There’s a system currently in Framingham that should pass over Fenway in about an hour. Not real bad but stronger than drizzle it appears.

Yeah, most of boston channels are calling for off on downpours through 3-4. I’m sure they’ll do everything to get the game in, but hard pass on that for me. Pouring in the lower pioneer valley right now.

You’d be taking route 2 right? Driving through the Erving, Orange, Athol stretch and then in Concord where the prison and rotary are,
sucks in the rain indeed.

I see that Bernardino is scheduled to make the start. I had been calling for him to be used more, but this one surprised me.
Why do they have to cancel, when they have all day to get it in?
1:35 PM ET NESN/BSSW
Texas (50-35, 23-17 Road)
Boston (43-42, 21-21 Home)
Tex: D. Dunning (7-1, 2.69 ERA)
Bos: B. Bernardino (1-0, 2.49 ERA)

I doubt they cancel. Texas’ only trip in, and I’m sure they want to try and avoid a weekday double dip if at all possible.

He isn't really the "starter", he's the "opener", likely pitches 1 or 2 innings, followed by... somebody else.

Rain at Fenway should restart around 1:20
Should be interesting to see how/when the game starts

Weather is holding off this far. Or ally I’d be disappointed with the seats I grabbed, but under the circumstances the cover will most certainly be appreciated in about 30 minutes

I would like to say that I really appreciate that even when all of the MLB games are free on MLB.tv for the 4th of July.... Blackouts still apply.
