The first game we lost against the Rockies my husband said he was done. Then he watched the game last night. After that game was over he said he was definitely done. We shall see.

Gonna be interesting to see what the lineup is vs the lefty Gomber with Cora’s new approach to better defense. Casas might be the odd man out if they keep Turner at 1st and DH Yoshida with Refsnyder in LF.

Any thoughts on the weather? My first game of the year and it looks like t-storms...

We always wait to get the weather report from @InsideTheParker
If lightning hits the electrified fence, does it kill all the bunnies nearby?
I wish. I have the trail-cam set up now to try to get photos of whoever got in there last night and ate, for some reason, only poppy flowers. How could a bunrab ignore the basil? Must have been some other, stranger creature. I sure hope the trail-cam is water-proof.
Anyway, our thunderstorms are supposed to begin about an hour from now. But they are described as "scattered" to begin with, then less scattered around 5. Which means that if they travel in a straight line in an easterly direction they might hit Fenway at game start. But weather systems aren't straight, are they?
So, don't ask me.

According to the Weather Underground the hourly forecast is calling for scattered thunderstorms around 7 and thunderstorms around 8. With an off day tomorrow, I wonder if Cora is considering a using an opener if the game starts on time and going to his bullpen each inning until there's either a rain delay, or until the threat has passed, and then bringing in Whitlock once it's reasonably sure the game won't be interrupted.

Game 69
No fun dirty puns for game 69.
The Sox continue their steady decline.
We’re losing games late and it makes me whine.
(There’s been no magic post-Sweet Caroline.)
Which players should start? Who should ride the pine?
It’s clear that Cora’s no Doc Frankenstein.
He’s failed in finding a way to combine
random spare parts in a winning design.
He takes some blame, but that may undermine
the fact that some turds will just never shine.
The Sox keep on sinking, looking like brine,
easy pickings on which other fish dine.
Is our future set? Have Fates cut our twine?
Can hope return somehow (like Palpatine)?
We’d need intervention that is divine,
or heroes to whom we would build a shrine.
I want to win, but if I’m genuine,
I’m good if our bad play gets back to fine.

These are amazing every day but this might be the best one yet.

Yeah, most of the pop culture references go right over my head.
Speaking of over head, it's raining so hard out here 2 hrs. W of Fenway that no outdoor games can be played.

I have tickets tonight, and I'm almost hoping they call off the game. Wet and chilly is a big price to pay to see this team.

Gotta love sitting him down right when his bat might be turning around, too.

Getting swept by the Rockies would SUCK. Let's not do that.

All sorts of lightening in the area. Suppose to get heavier rain at 8. I bet they start it, but after 9

Democrats have men at second and third with two outs in the first in the Congressional Baseball Game on FS1 (Ch. 219 on Directv).
Damn. They strand two. Where have I seen that before?

Really? Even though we have so many other political threads?
We are supposed to keep our politics to those threads.
Anyway, I have been reading about this contest, which the Rs now lead by 2-0, and apparently the Ds haven't won since 2019. So, might be as depressing as rooting for the Sox 2023.

I can see why. The pitching is similiar (LOL)
