Or just maybe they're shitty, dumb players and having the offspring of Joe McCarthy and Bobby Cox in the dugout wouldn't make a bit of difference.
Maybe.
I'll respond the way I want.

My thoughts on this are you made a basic premise, saying it's clear Cora isn't getting through to the players ... yet provided nothing other than observational anecdotal evidence to back your claim.

You can't know whether he isn't getting through to his players without having honest conversations with the players ... which is an impossibility. It's simply lazy posting to say some thing "quite clear" without anyway to back it up.

I don't have to provide any evidence to the contrary because your premise lacks any factual foundation.

Now, I'm done. Enjoy the rest of the game
I can't know anything. This is a fucking game thread. This team is playing shitty fucking baseball and I'm fucking pissed off about it.

It isn't some great logistical leap to look at the leadership of the team, in this case the Manager, to enforce some accountability.

I can't enjoy this fucking game because the team is playing like a bunch of idiots, and then I got you being like "Nah"
Fuck off man.

Your conjecture is just the same as mine.

For the record, the word "logistical" means something very different than the word "logical"...I'd love it if y'all would stop conflating that shit. It's like watching Alex Verdugo make baseball decisions.

"accountabililty" wont make a stupid baseball players into a smart baseball player. Cora benched Verdugo for not running hard. Thats different.

Verdugo admitted he wasn’t thrilled with Cora’s decision but acknowledged that he understands why his manager made it. He declined to discuss the nature of the conversations between the two men in recent days. Verdugo did, however, note that his relationship with his manager is a good one, despite some public perception otherwise.
“I don’t give a (expletive) about what anybody says — the media, fans. Nobody knows what’s in-house,” Verdugo said in his first public comments since the benching. “Me and him are cool. Our families are cool, our kids love each other. There’s some (expletive) that I do that pisses him off on the field but that’s part of this. It’s a part of growing, it’s part of being a player and being a manager. There’s different stresses and responsibilities that go on and we’ve got to handle that. We’ve got to make sure we’re still handling our business and doing what we need to do.

“There’s no hardship, there’s no bad feelings, there’s no ill will, nothing like that,” Verdugo added. “I think it needed to happen. He was tired of it, he wanted to put me on the spot and let me know. It was loud and clear. We’re good.

“I don’t know if you want to say it was pointed at me, singling me out. At the end of the day, he expects better from me and I expect better for myself. I feel like he holds me to a high standard. You can take that however you want. I try to see the positive sides of it.”
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

PM me if you want to keep going with this "argument". I completely disagree with you. I think it's quite clear he hasn't gotten through to them. I don't see you providing any thoughts or evidence other than "No it isn't."

And another dumb play
So tell us.....how would the universe's theoretical best manager in history coach a player out of being stupid? Or slow? Or right-handed?
That's like saying that if NESN hired Edward R Murrow, he'd turn Kevin Millar into a functional broadcaster.
