The Celtics will win this series and are probably still the Vegas favorites, but I just don't see this team winning a title with this coach.

23-8 last 6:10 of the 4th. Just driving it to the basket from then on they should have had more than 8 free throws. Unbelievable.

Refused to put them away, paid a hefty price.
Yup. They were on the edge of breaking it open for about 8 minutes of game time and never quite put the accelerator down to do it. And then they hit a funk and Trae got hot and now they gotta screw around with a game six on the road.

That was just awful. Tatum, Smart, CJM. Brown disappeared as well late, after being specatacular for three quarters

Can't blame the refs, just an absolute refusal to go up past 13. Felt like that was the unlucky number.

Have to wonder why about the use of Blake in this game for six minutes when you could use TL there? You're going to get him super solid rest if you hold on there. Fucking fuck, brutal. Shame to lose this but it's about how you get up, got to show that was an anomaly.

Good for Trae and ATL for taking that shit, they earned it. Sucks this core is so good at blowing playoff games with dumb fucking turnovers and mindless plays because it's about their only weakness.

They all played and coached like fucking assholes. Missed free throws, dumbass shots, playing Blake minutes for reasons????? not defending, losing their heads.

#TeamJurak
They broke even on the Blake minutes and were up 8 when he came out, it was an odd decision but it worked out fine

Deserved loss. You don’t let your foot off the gas in an elimination game. Total embarrassment to the laundry. Tatum need to show up. Pathetic game.

If this sinks the series, they were not winning shit anyways, I agree. But why go through the gigantic pain in the ass of having to win another game.

I mean.. if you forget about every call that was made that kept Atlanta in it.. sure. Then also blame them.
Refs can’t defend the 3 point line for you. Refs can’t keep your best players on the floor for you. Refs can’t make you shoot contested threes when the opposing defense rolls out a red carpet to the rim.

That sequence where they got rattled in the period from like 4:30 to 1:30 left was so shocking. Just lost their cool and kept turning it over like crazy. They even got some good luck — Williams getting that offensive rebound and Tatum avoiding a clear path, but still choked.

They earned that loss. Unbeleivable.
Cannot understand why TL plays so much. He is a shadow of himself, not blocking shots, losing his man at the three-point line all game, they rarely look at him on offence.
Tatum, Smart, JB, all didn't want the ball at the ball and had bad TOs. Tatum's TO late was an incredible soft play. The cheap technical foul was the difference.
The flow on offence is so bad they just walk it up, ballscreen. They were killing htem in transition and don't try to run.

White and brogdon just instill so much more confidence that they won't do something insane out there. Not even a contest who should be out there late.

There's a reason that quality head coaches get paid a lot of money, can't believe a team with this roster is doing job training with the head coach.

Joe Mazzula ain't it.

Jaylen Brown 1-5 from the line. Love the guy but he's the biggest FT choker I've ever seen play the game.

I don’t understand how anybody can be shocked by this.

but they can give the other side about ten points they didn't deserve.

What a gag job by Boston tonight. And letting Trae get that iso at the end was inexcusable. Throw a double at him and make him give it up.

They are extremely fucking lucky that there are really no juggernauts because they can still cheesedick their way to the finals but if they get to the wrong matchup (GS) they have no chance.

Few extra days for Embiid to rest up and get better. The loss tonight might snowball quite a bit.

Our coach is not good. And the competition gets much much better. (Assuming they can put these guys away)
This is just silly. Don’t know why I visit these game threads as I know they’re just inane emotion but this coach just led the team to the second best record (by a single game) with TL gone for much of the season.

Overreact much?

Only silver lining is 08 Celtics went 7 games with a more inferior Hawks team and won a championship. They can’t let this get to game 7 though this Hawks team is too good

LOL, 1.8 seconds left, and you're play is to go to Al on the blocks from the inbounds? A guy who hasn't shoot inside the arc in weeks?

What the actual fuck?

And then why isn't Joe losing his shit about 1.3 seconds coming off the clock on that play? Should have been a half second at most.
He’s out of his league
not enough experience

Tatum's lack of awareness/intensity was a bigger issue tonite than Mazzulla.
Felt like every time they were running and pushing pace, they were scoring at will.

Then Tatum would come in, and he and Smart would go into their 2 man game playing slow, and it all fell apart.

A 10 point lead is NOT A FUCKING LEAD in the NBA. You need to keep pushing that lead up until it's out of fucking reach. Just mind numbing stupid shit, and a lot of that is on Joe.

To be fair, they have the most talented roster in the league.

The loss is squarely on Tatum. Every fucking time we had the opportunity to stretch the lead, he had to play hero-ball iso and put up a shitty 3 when all we needed to do was drive the lane.

I don't think he's as good as some of you guys think he is.
