Lol boo hoo. Provided he doesn't have a serious injury, he's an entitled dick. He gets to play the best courses in the world, for millions of dollars, and he can't wake up early to finish his round? Yeah, he wasn't making the cut but it still doesn't excuse it.
Minor neck and knee injuries. He's the only person in the 156 person field to withdraw. Respect the fucking tournament.

Meanwhile, Rory is -4 for the day, but just 3 putted 17 after driving the green. Missed a great opportunity to get another.

Spieth marked his ball our of Zach's line on the 17th. I didn't see him remark. Perhaps he did outside out camera shot after Zach's putt and before DeChambeau's subsequent putt.

Leaders teeing off at 5:01pm today. Guessing they finish at least 13 holes in close to 4 hours. These past two days have been all sorts of awesome for watching golf. Over 12 hours two straight days. If this was the Masters, they would have probably started TV coverage yesterday at 5pm. Just because they could.

Yeah, Augusta needs to start using their powers for good instead of evil. Remember that year they did it with no commercials, again, just because they could? That was great.

And yes these last couple days have been fantastic but not doing much good for my liver or my relationship.

Rob Oppenheim SIGHTING on network television. That's great.

edit - they only showed him because they were doing a feature on Jason Day and Oppenheim's group had to hit (off of 1) to give Day a chance to tee off to start his third round off of 10. Still, they showed his shot. It is likely the last time we see him.

Finally have an hour or so to sit down and watch some golf before I have to go to my 5 year old's recital. Rob bogeys the opening hole in round 3 (No. 10). Just hope he can hang in, and maybe pick up a top 25 or so. First time he's playing the weekend in a Major. Either way, whole lot of fun for him and his family.

No. 12 is 674 yards today. Holy shit. I'd be playing that driver, 3 wood, 5 wood, if I hit them all pretty flush. LOL

Talked to a friend of mine today, who is also tight with Rob, and he went and played Oakmont a couple weeks ago on the Open set up, and shot 85. He's a +4 handicap. Said it was the hardest course he'd ever personally played, set up the way it was.

Yeah, these guys play a completely different game. +4 shooting an 85 is insane, man.

My buddy at a +4 plays a completely different game than I ever did, when I was playing at my best at a 9. And Rob plays yet another level above him. He said he actually played about as well as he could too at Oakmont. Said the greens are just diabolical, and the television does no justice on just how thick the rough really is. He said it's like the rough is just sucking down on the ball, as you try to hit it out.

Spieth getting warm. Has a short one to get his 3rd birdie in a row, and back to +1 if he makes it. Personally, I would really love to see Sergio get one. Was never really a big Sergio fan when he was younger, but as he's gotten older, I've grown to like him even more. He really does deserve to get a big one before he's all done.

Was it the full Open setup, because I'm actually impressed he could get to 85.

I would be psyched if Sergio pulls this out but he's not going to. I don't think DJ is either. They are going to both miss a number of huge putts over the next 36 holes. These greens will whomp them both.

Just getting in front of the tv today. Beer is stocked and I'm ready to lounge around watch the rest of the action today.

I see Landry got things back on track. Stage getting real big now though, final group with DJ and Piercy.

I get everyone wants to see the big names, but I have 2 guys in the top 14 of the tourney and haven't seen one shot of theirs in like 30+ hours of coverage

Great opening 9 for Rob. Even par. Looks like he made some long putts to save par or bogey and missed at least one inside 10 feet for birdie. I hope he can continue this steady play.

I played in a tourney today, just got home and hit the couch and don't really plan to move the rest of the day. Lotta golf still to watch.

DJ falls victim to the false front on 3. Dropping at least 1 shot.

Double for DJ while Westy holes out for an eagle on 5. 3-way tie at the top.

DJ gets one right back. Good sign that he's not rattled. You're going to bleed strokes on this course, you just can't let a bad shot or hole get you into a 3-4 hole stretch. Limit the damage.

Edit: Then he drives it in the rough with an iron. Is it me or does it seem DJ only misses fairways when he's playing safe and hitting an iron?
