Modest positives, for now want the crappy passing teams earlier and those are two good passing teams we know are in November

just booked a hotel in green bay, btw.

rooms are already pretty scarce that weekend, it seems. (and the prices are on the high side, but whatever).

now i'm hoping the bears get the late thanksgiving game. would be an awesome trip to go chicago for the bears game, then to green bay for the patriots game.

did a quick check of where the twins were on 9/14 in the event of making that a trip, but they're at the white sox. that would've been a nice little weekend otherwise.

Denver opens up with Indy, KC, Seattle, and AZ. Wow. Their first 8 games I'd say there's 1 maybe 2 teams vs. non-contenders. One of those non contenders is SD who always plays them tough. The other is the Jets. Pats could open up a lead over them early.

Sort of perfect first four games

Three of four on the road to start the season is perfect?  Miami in the heat, dome in Minnesota, and Monday night at Arrowhead isn't exactly a cakewalk.  Minnesota shouldn't be too much of a problem depending on what their QB situation looks like, but the other two aren't exactly gimmes.

anyone want to rent a plane for a Pearl Harbor Day game in the best city in the US?

If I'm still living on the west coast in December, I could do that game.

No dome in Minnesota anymore. You get all summer to prepare for the heat so it's not that much of a difference. KC is challenging, but very winnable.

broncos/chiefs is currently the 11/30 game, so i could actually see the patriots/packers game being flexed in, no? (unless cbs is protecting it).

I didn't realize the new stadium opened this season, but it still has a roof.  It's just translucent.  And we get to be the first road opponent in the new stadium.  Hardly enviable.

Well then. I should've done more intrepid googling.

Either way, starting the season with 3 of the first 4 games on the road is hardly ideal. Though I suppose one could argue that the more home games in Foxboro when it's colder, the better.

One prime time game would have to be flexed back to afternoon. Pats have 5 prime time games already which is the max.

It's not ideal, but if you could hand pick 4 teams you'd have a hard time picking a better quartet to play. If they go 3-1 there, they have 1 road game between Week 5 and 11 with it being a short trip to Buffalo. They could make major headway towards 12 wins there. The harder stretch is right after the bye where they have at Indy, Detroit, at GB and at SD.

Nothing in NE at any time approximates Miami heat and humidity in early September -- and it's a 1:00 pm start. Hope springs eternal for every team in week 1. I'd love to flip the order of the two Mia games.

Very true, but if you have to play there early it's better if it's the 1st week so you'll be as used to the heat as you can. They'll make the Pats wear the dark blue jerseys too.
