Invoking Bledsoe is actually an interesting angle, considering how Bradycame to powerbecame a starter.

Makes too much sense. I don't see them carrying one backup who is a rookie.Greg29fan said:

Definitely would not count on a Ryan Mallett trade to Houston or anywhere. Mallett expected back in Foxboro.
DrewDawg said:
HAHAHA.
He did not draft a QB in round 2 to be camp fodder.
DrewDawg said:
Also comical---posters thinking that by ripping picks they are a true fan.
Saying you don't like the pick is fine--arguments like "Wait!!! What about Mallett??" like the Pats don't have a plan is not smart.
DrewDawg said:
I know. I understand that.
But make the argument that BB doesn't know his teams needs 1000 times better than anyone here.
So, what you're saying is the Pats should draft Tajh Boyd in the 3rd round to act as the next generation Michael Bishop to motivate Garoppolo to be an elite QB?PedroKsBambino said:
In terms of Mallett being a 'must trade' because he's the third QB remember Brady spent a year as the 4th QB (different situation, obviously)

This is just way, way too conservative. The QB is everything, but you don't need two backups behind the GOAT when he's nearing the finish line and needs all the help he can get. I think Brady probably hates the pick, so I should too.
Do you drink? Maybe go make yourself one? Because you're missing jokes and references and points left and right.

BB is amazing, but no one is perfect
No, the reward of hitting on a QB is so high, and the low of not having a QB is so damaging.BigSoxFan said:So, you have no problem with the opportunity cost there? That's my issue. Obviously, time will tell.

You seem awfully confident on your opinion of this player. What can you tell us about Garoppollo that would make me think you have a better read on him than the Patriots staff?Eck'sSneakyCheese said:So are you if you think he's the heir apparent.

Hey, I hope we never find out how good or bad Garrapolo actually is at football. Just like we never found out how good or bad O'Connell was or Hoyer was or Mallet is - and did find out what Matt Cassel was (seems like a miracle they got a 2 for him, given his now proven talent level).
Brady is one hit from done, like everyone in the NFL. Having a viable, paid up insurance policy is the rational thing to do. Just like when they did it with Bledsoe.

We need to develop some kind of graphic or photoshop depicting the Brady Window.
