That whole thing about the great ones making the players around them better -- I watch a lot of Denver games on League Pass and so many of the Nuggets are more creative passers now, and all of them are ready to get the ball (because if you're open, Joker will find you).
I presume the rationale is that
- the shot block was legitimate
- TL interfered with the ball in the rim following the shot block
- TL was not fouled until after the shot block (so that foul doesn't count)
A home team call.

I have never seen an offensive goaltending call of that nature in 40 years of watching celtics basketball. Never.
Agreed, flags fly forever and all that. Still, I feel bad for being okay with Timelord burning out if we win a couple of titles.
There wasn’t a shot block. It has to be that he touched the ball in cylinder on his own shot. That is literally never called. Technically, if you touch the net on a dunk while ball is still live that’s goaltending too….but also never called.

There had to have been a shot block, or Williams would have been at the line on a foul. There was a lot of contact between Williams and his defender.
Joe can't very well argue that a technically correct call should not have been called.
If they got to Denver yesterday and went out last night hangovers can be very difficult at altitude
Honestly if they can end the half down 10 or fewer that’s a major win given how shitty they’re playing.

Also, the rules don’t work like that—-the shot block and any foul are totally distinct, there is no situation by nba rules that results in the either/or you describe. It’s not the nfl—tipping the ball does not excuse contact. Just FYI.
That call was not technically correct, as about ten of us who follow this closely all noted.
I really hope whatever banger of a party this team stayed out all night attending was worth it.
