Is anybody watching the game via Max? I just turned it on (streaming Max through an Amazon Firestick) and it's a laggy, stuttering mess.
I think my issue with the AS game is the format. It doesn’t really matter who wins, so 4 15-minute quarters just get boring. Maybe if they tried breaking it up into 7 games to 21 where each game wins more prize money for the players and/or charity, it might keep fans engaged. The first 3 quarters of a 165-152 game are borrrring.
Shaq or Kenny had the right idea during the pregame - treat this like a summer league game. You don't want to get hurt, but you also don't want to get dunked on. So play a little defense and actually compete.
Other than Barnes, and perhaps Haliburton and Ant, who here remembers summer league games?
For the second straight ASG, most points combined in a half is set. 191 last year, 193 this year. 104 ties the West in 2016 for most by an individual team.

The two teams didn’t combine for more than 300 points in an All-Star Game that didn’t go to overtime until 2014.

Feels like a byproduct of players making so much money. The game itself is literally the most boring part of the weekend.

And the NHL fastest skate and hardest shot are legit. It's basically NFL and NBA that have become almost unwatchable.
The NHL All-Star Gane has sucked since forever. The Pro Bowl was such a joke they got rid of the game. MLB and NBA were the two All-Star Games that were entertaining back in the day; neither is as good as it once was.
