Rockets meltdown or Warriors hitting big 3s? More the latter as far as I can see.

For like half a moment in time we had the hope not seeing another warriors curb stomp in the finals. That dream is dead.

It's sort of nice to see the Rockets and their aesthetically disgusting offense eliminated.

I say it every year, but I can’t believe basketball fans have to deal with Breen/JVG/Jackson as the announce team for the biggest games of the year. They are beyond terrible.

I hope people finally open their eyes that Morey has been incredibly overrated for years. His teams are not constructed to win when it matters.

Against an historically great team? No. But that’s a high bar.

I disagree. What can he do? He has managed to bring in bodies even though his cap is completely encumbered. And to be fair, nobody is beating the Warriors as currently constituted.

You guys are soft. The point isnt to get close. This garbage basketball hack he continues to put together doesnt work.

The Durant-less Warriors are really likeable. The parity in the league will make for a really fun season next year if he leaves.

I think his worst decision was trading Lou Will and Harrell for CP3 but he is pretty good otherwise. No comment on my softness. I own it.

Well, Durant did go to Golden State so he could get injured and still have a chance to make the Finals.

I think D'Antoni gets fired. Kerr outcoached him. Oh well. We needed to build a big enough lead to withstand the late onslaught. We didn't. We were 2 shots away from breaking it open a few times in the 4th but just couldn't do it. And you know late in the game those Curry 3s are backbreakers. I don't know where we go from here. We can't run it back again with Paul a year older, the dude is too slow to be effective against good teams now. I don't know what we can do.

Yes. Just not good enough and no assets to facilitate improvement. Last 2 years was their shot. Harden makes this a playoff team every year but elite Paul is gone.
Id argue Harden's contract is as bad as Paul's. Any dollar you're paying Harden to be your #1 is setting your money on fire. He can't even resemble a leader when it actually matters.

He had some bad plays in the 4th (offensive foul on Green, turnover when it was a 5pt game) but these things happen over a 7-game series. Without him we're nothing. There's only one winner in the NBA so Harden will get a ton of shit from everyone for not winning this year, but IMO he's still one of maybe 5 players that you can build a team around him that has a shot at winning a ring.

going to blame the refs for losing two games without Durant for GS, Houston?
this made me laugh. indeed!

that's what kills me...i'm a GS hater and, voila, btw hating Chris Paul much more vigorously and loving the Durant-less style of play (and I love Steve Kerr, too), all of a sudden rooting like hell for these guys.

Much more fun to root for them.

He's massively overpaid two career losers, Harden and CP. That's criminal, imo.
I'd say that about CP3, though admittedly he was good tonight. Still so happy-making to see that cowardly, cheap-shot-ing bastard go down again.

Is there a middle ground between “James Harden isn’t good” and “the Rockets run a weird, hacky offense that had real problems scoring down the stretch in a lot of these games?”
