Oh I love Theo. He picked up what DD started and built the title winner.
I will always love what he did for the Sox.
I just didn't like the predicament he left the team in and just skated to Chicago.
To be fair, he may have just been burned out and/or it could have been ownership pushing the bad deals.
I agree that Theo left the team in a mess when he went to the Cubs. Crawford was his signing so he gets a lot of blame for the team that needed the Dodgers to bail them out.

Anytime I talk sports with people I tend to default toward a feeling of "I understand why some people think baseball is boring, but I love it".

And then games like this happen. And I am reminded that those people are dumb.

This. Playoff baseball is so, so good. Especially close out or series final games.

I'm gonna say something crazier, NL playoff games are better than AL playoff games right now. I don't think it's the strategy, just that the NL breeds better pitching. There was no AL matchup possible as good as Bumgarner/Arrieta, Bumgarner/Syndergaard, Kershaw/Scherzer or Lester/Cueto.

I agree, but I think that the NL having overall better teams (more parity, perhaps?) has something to do with this as well. I think there are lineups in the NL (Nats, Dodgers) that are better than any in the AL, not just the pitching. I thinks it's just part of the ebb and flow, though, not necessarily a long term thing.

The Dodgers and Nats do not have lineups "better than any in the AL". Maybe I'm missing something you're trying to say.

Yeah, you could make an argument that 9 of the top 12 teams this year were in the AL. The records of the top NL teams look good because they have so many shitty teams to beat up on, the Cubs are head and shoulders the best team in baseball, but after that it's a lot less clear.

It's crazy that WAS/LAD don't know what time they're playing until this one is over, 5 PM local time or 8 PM local time.

I can't believe fox sports though it was a good idea to give Skip a 2.5 hour show 5 days a week, those promos make it look like the worst show ever and I can't imagine who could ever stomach that much.

Plus Colin Cowherd and Jason Whitlock. FS1 is where hot takes go to die.

When was the first time Kontos warmed in this game, 10 innings ago?

What could have possibly taken so long to come to a decision, looking at those replays? Ross was obviously out by half a step.
Those guys have all gone home, so they had to call one of their wives to ask them to check the TV replays.

I find I am ambivalent. Part of me wanted the Cubs to win so they could go on to possibly win a WS for their fans, but I have always loved Buster Posey and Company and part of me wanted them to win. So part of me is happy the Giants won, but another part wishes the Cubs had closed it out!

Im pretty ambivalent at this point, I just want more baseball. It would be nice to see Tito, or Lester win as a last middle finger to Lucky, but I'm mostly looking for entertainment at this point. I guess I'll root against the Dodgers because O'Malley broke my families hearts, and lawyered guys I grew up with to death when they opened a bar called the Brooklyn Dodger in Bay Ridge.
