watching Denver lose out starting with a mediocre TEN squad is pretty delicious.

they got their SB around that defense, they're lucky they even gone one.

Fake FG only makes sense if it's a throw downfield. A 10 yard gain they still are likely kicking a FG anyway.
I'm just catching up on the thread(didn't take too long) but I thought the fake FG was clearly supposed to be a pass to number 82 who went out but was tightly covered. The kicker slowed up briefly and looked but ran when he saw the pass had no chance.
Neither announcer said anything like that but that shouldn't be a surprise.

As great as the last 16 years have been for the Patriots with four Super Bowl wins, they have had some shit luck running into teams in the playoffs who caught lightning in a bottle and got hot at the right time at their expense; the 2007 and 2011 Giants, the 2010 Jets, the 2012 Ravens and the 2015 Broncos.

Don't get me wrong, four Super Bowl wins is a blessing and all, but still, the what if game is maddening.........................

Is it just me, or is this an especially brutal game for commercials? Is this worth bitching about anymore at this point?

But the pats were that team in 2001. Plus were damn lucky to win in 2003 and 2014. It all evens out, and you cannot play the what if game without doing it both ways.

The Arrowhead field looks as bad as the Foxboro one did under BB before the NFL ordered the Pats to install artificial turf.

Understood, valid point by you, can't argue with what you said.

Again, considering what I witnessed from about 1968 till 2000, I'll gladly take the four Super Bowl wins from 2001 till now................

There should never ever be a celebration penalty when a 400 pounder throws a TD pass.

And if Denver was going to get bent out of shape, they shouldn't have called time outs.

Moving the Line
Poe becomes the first KC player drafted by KC since Brodie Croyle in 2007(!) to throw a TD pass for the team. He also joins only Carlos Carson, Tom Flores, and Bert Coan to throw a TD for his only pass on the Chiefs, all of whom were offensive players. Prior to this, only Leroy Keyes in 1973 had thrown a pass for the Chiefs as a defensive player. Not counting Johnny Robinson here because with his one attempt in 1960, he was a flanker at that point, not the safety he was later converted to.

Any chance this was inspired by Arkansas' Sebastian Tretola offensive line TD pass vs. UAB?

The NFL blows for penalties like that. That was awesome but, of course, Goodell and his minions want to make sure that celebrations are quick and generic or non-existent at all. Meanwhile, this game features a guy who we know battered his pregnant girlfriend and likely has other domestic abusers on the field as well. In short, the NFL can fuck off.

I see Russell and Culpepper both listed at 260 lbs., FWIW.
My quick look on Wikipedia had Russell at 300 and Culpepper at 260, though that feels a little low. Daunte was built like a truck. Then again, JaMarcus was absolutely huge at the end of his Raiders years.

The most unbelievable part of that is that Brodie Croyle actually threw a TD pass.

Right, the #1 seed after the Patriots lost their last 2 and HFA; Denver panicked in their last game vs San Diego, put the corpse of Manning in, he did a tremendous job handing the ball off the rest of the game and then won.

Then they stuck with him and he did another tremendous job handing the ball off vs Pittsburg, who despite being down their two best offensive weapons, had that game in their hands until a late fumble (yeah, I know; a late turnover out in Denver, I know how crazy and improbable that sounds, but just play along) cost them the game.

Then in the AFCCG, the Patriots all world kicker missed a PAT (yeah, I know, yet another crazy, totally improbable thing happening to a visiting team in Denver, but again, just play along) and Denver's defense played out of their minds and Manning did yet another superb handing off job while also finding the corpse of Owen Daniels twice for gimme TD's and they won.

So; yes, #1 seed, but also yes, lightning in a bottle.

Zack Zenner and Rex Burkehead are holding it down for white RBs.
