I have no idea what your point is, but I love blue. I also have no idea why people get so worked up when others say they don’t like him. People love and hate every great golfer - Tiger, Phil, Bubba, Nicklaus, Miller, Faldo - for various reasons, a lot of which are just personal taste. Again, much like the guy in your group of friends that everyone loves but rubs you he wrong way and you don’t really care if he hangs out or not, even though he didn’t do anything to you personally. Weren’t you just complaining about Horschels pants or was that someone else?
Horschel sucks, however, unlike Jordan. Anyway, I was just making a joke. Chill out, it's all in good fun.

Apologies. My meters are off, been a long week at work and I’ve had someone ripping out my only bathroom for three days. Carry on. I’m going to put my Vineyard Vines on and go get a Horschel tattoo to relax.

Be nice if one of these par saves for Tiger were a birdie attempt.

Nearly a 3 hour front 9. I don’t remember the Masters ever playing this slow.

So speaking of Tin Cup, what's the rule on balls during the Masters? Like, if Serg had hit his last ball in to the water yesterday he can't borrow one from another player or somehow acquire another, right? So he's done? But what if he finished with one ball? Could he restock overnight or is he left with one for the rest of his time?

There’s not a limit on how many you can carry, most just don’t carry more than 2-3 sleeves because they don’t often lose that many. But yes, assuming they use usga rules, he can borrow one.

Edit: in fact, he can reload however he likes as long as he doesn’t slow down pace of play.

‘There is nothing in the Rules of Golf that prohibits a player from borrowing a golf ball from an opponent or fellow-competitor. A player who runs out of balls may get a new supply from any source, provided he does not unduly delay play (Rule 6-7) in the process. Although golf balls are part of a player`s equipment, the only type of equipment that the Rules limit the borrowing of is clubs Rule 4-4(Decision 5-1/5)’

There was an article yesterday about this. I currently can’t find it, but apparently he could’ve borrowed a ball. Most pro’s carry between 6-12 balls for a tournament round. Sergio didn’t say how close he got to empty.

He could go pull the ball out of the water.

They can restock overnight. The tour uses a one ball rule but IIRC it’s on a per round basic. A player could use a Pro V1 on Thursday and a Chrome Soft on Friday but they have to use the same ball through each round.

Edit: Masters obviously isn’t the tour so I’m not sure if they follow the one ball rule. USGA rules actually allow switching but acknowledge tournaments may follow a one ball rule.

It's a one hole rule. You can change balls between the hole. But you can't change balls on a single hole.

This. You can use a different ball on every hole so long as you play it tee to cup.
But, just to clarify, Lomb is also correct in that if you're in a "one ball rule" tourney, (which all PGA events are) you do have to play the same ball brand the entire round. So if you tee off with a Pro V, you can only play Pro V's. But you can use a new Pro V ball on every hole.

For amateurs, the rule is different. You can play any ball brand on any hole, but you still have to finish a hole with the same ball that you started with, provided you didn't lose it on the hole.

So he could only have borrowed a ball but only from someone playing the same ball?
Since the ball is considered equipment, I don’t think you can do that. Would be like borrowing a 7-iron.

You are correct, but I believe CL was talking about brands. And you must play the same brand of ball all round.

Also, I believe you can switch balls on a hole, but only if your ball is damaged to the point where it is considered unplayable. That’s very rare these days.

I don’t know if the Masters committee has their own set of rules or if they follow the USGA’s.
That's the rub. While it.s "recognized and acknowledged" as a Tour event, it is all totally up to the Masters which rules they apply.

Interestingly, the rule notes that if you drop a different brand ball, you can pick it back up and replace it with no penalty. So, I guess in theory at least, you could stall if you needed someone to make a run.

Edit: Also that's a situation where one would have to question why they don't just playa ProV, since odds are someone near you has one. How many guys play Callaway Chrome Soft?

Fucking coverage. I’d much rather see the shot than the golfer. We knew it was bad from his reaction, but I’d like the other angle.

I want to see Hadwin try to bank that off the big tree, and then back to the green
