Everyone knows that the most grave medical diagnoses are made with abundant alliteration.I think your sarcasm meter is due for recalibration.
Pedey’s knees need speedy relief?Everyone knows that the most grave medical diagnoses are made with abundant alliteration.
Persistent patella pain? So, Pedroia’s premature promotion precipitated a precautionary pause on his progression to pinnacle performance?

Pedroia is the only player I've ever wanted to see in a full body cast for a toe injury. The bolded is my only problem with this post. Has there been a time yet when he's come back from injury at the appropriate time?
Assonance is reserved for steroids, not injuries. Luckily no need to fear Pedey and PEDs.Pedey’s knees need speedy relief?
You don’t want to open that box.Assonance is reserved for steroids, not injuries. Luckily no need to fear Pedey and PEDs.
That’s a glass just about full take. Good on you. In fact, Brock is having his best year ever in avg, OBP, OPS, wRC+, etc. Hopefully, he can stay healthy. In fact, his staying healthy and continuing what he’s been doing has to be a significant key to the success of the rest of the season.Could not have been a better year for Brock Holt to resuscitate.

Cora on likelihood of Pedroia returning in first half: ‘The more he stays away from the field the longer he’s going to be.’
Very Yogi like or in the current times, very Trump like. That's quite the quote.
The '61 Mets didn't really lose muchFuck you Machado. You should be forced to play the rest of the year in Charm City for that dumpster fire that may be worse than the '61 Mets.
They didn't win a single game. By comparison the '62 Mets were 40 games better. The '61 Mets didn't really lose much
Pedroia's knee was fucked before Machado slid into him (he had had surgery on it the previous off-season). All Machado did was possibly accelerate the timetable for when he had the second operation.Fuck you Machado. You should be forced to play the rest of the year in Charm City for that dumpster fire that may be worse than the '61 Mets.
It's pretty simple, really. Pedroia is only the second baseball player to have this type of surgery on his knee. Steven Wright was the first and only by a few months. All estimates on when they'd be healthy enough to return to the field were 100% guesswork. That both players are back on the DL with inflammation in their repaired knees would indicate that the doctors' guesswork was a bit off.I guess i dont understand to how we got from Pedey not ruling out opening day- to apparently being good to go to start June - to Pedey saying if the MRI only shows its 75% healed by the middle of August that he is done for the season.
Ok, the first bit of optimism was Pedey being Pedey.
But when he came back in June, about when expected, which forced a roster move (losing Hanley and then having to get Pearce later), presumably trainers, Docs, and MRI's all agreed.
So what happened? How do you go from being good to go (even if not exactly 100%) to then being out for potentially another 4 months or longer after a couple of games? Its like he went almost back to where he was when his rehab and recovery first started
Obviously we can hope its all good by mid August. But he will need a lengthy rehab assignment this time. Last one was way too short
Worst case, I suppose its out of the question that the team insured Pedroias contract given JWH aversion to player insurance. That could have helped offset some of the penalties for going over 237 should they decide to do so.
He needs to master Lowell first.Well, this sucks.
Help us, Brandon Phillips, you’re our only hope.
He's already helped. His signing has inspired Nunez to up his game from dead to terrible.Well, this sucks.

There is Lin, but he has sucked in his very small sample at the majors this year.Well, this sucks.

Can we quit with the Hanley stuff already, guy was toast. Handful of posters have him as a binky and bring it up over and over again. It was time to move onI guess i dont understand to how we got from Pedey not ruling out opening day- to apparently being good to go to start June - to Pedey saying if the MRI only shows its 75% healed by the middle of August that he is done for the season.

Dozier might be the answer but I’d like to see Philips get a shot before DD uses one of his few trade chits on a spot that might be already adequately covered in house. Phillips has some rust on him and is 37, but if he can duplicate his level of play from last season (admittedly a good sized if), that strikes me as good enough. There’s also the chance that Pedey is able to return in 2019, making second base in 2018 a pure rental.Mid August is too late. I want Dozier now. Sorry Pedey, take the rest of the year off.
Daniel Murphy had the same surgery, at the same time, as Pedroia. I saw a video, about a month ago of him playing in Triple A, where he had a terrible limp. He's back with Nationals now and has a low batting average, but I don't know how his mobility is.It's pretty simple, really. Pedroia is only the second baseball player to have this type of surgery on his knee. Steven Wright was the first and only by a few months. I'd imagine that if either of these guys weren't professional players and instead regular guys working regular jobs that didn't put undue stress on the knees, they'd be 100% recovered.
I'm not sure the Redsox can go into 2019 with Dustin penciled in as their 2B, never mind expecting him to return to his previous high level. He turns 35 next month. Not terribly optimistic on Pedey ever being the player he was. Days gone by. He just beat the hell out of his body. As inspirational as he is, reality sets in for all athletes who play as hard as he did. Micro-fracture surgery on a position player and a return to his previous high level is likely not going to happen.
I’m wracking my brain trying to figure out who this could beIf only we had a healthy RHH putting up .953 OPS this year (in 113 PA) who started 27 games at 2B in 2015-16...
Dozier is very realistically capable of ops of .863I’m wracking my brain trying to figure out who this could be
Pearce.I’m wracking my brain trying to figure out who this could be
This does have a 1984 Jerry Remy smell to it. Time will tell.I'm not sure the Redsox can go into 2019 with Dustin penciled in as their 2B, never mind expecting him to return to his previous high level. He turns 35 next month.
Pearce was a worse hitter in 2017 than Nunez. We're talking about different flavors of average-ish here.I get what you're saying, but man, imagine having Moreland-Pearce-Xander-Devers-JD in the lineup along with the 3-B outfield.
