Depends on the means. As a point of comparison, my new Subaru was shipped from Japan earlier this year by boat and took about 3-4 weeks to get to the dck in Charlestown. But if there is rail or flight involved at some point, it could be quicker. I just don't know how Apple does distribution.AlNipper49 said:I just got a shipping statement. It's coming from China. How long does that usually take?
I'm not going to lie, I've been shying away from the Plus because of it.crow216 said:It's not made up but it's certainly exaggerated. People are under the impression that their phones are gonna bend in their pocket because of a YouTube video.
Apple said there have been 9 complaints in total. I wouldn't worry too much.MakMan44 said:I'm not going to lie, I've been shying away from the Plus because of it.
Cool, thanks for the info.crow216 said:Apple said there have been 9 complaints in total. I wouldn't worry too much.
So, did Apple somehow make a bad batch? Did they get weaker case materials from a subcontractor into one of their plants? I'm sure they're made at multiple plants. Sounds more like a materials problem than an assembly problem. Only 9 complaints but how many people so far have stressed them by having them in a skinny jeans pocket and driving all day? The video I saw made it look pretty damn "pliable" or bendable. The 6 case is metal (anodized Aluminum) according to Apple. I wonder if it's thinner Al than in the 5 though?crow216 said:Apple said there have been 9 complaints in total. I wouldn't worry too much.
After a week with my 6 plus, I was looking at the 6 in an Apple Store this morning, and it felt tiny to me. I think I would have been very happy going directly from a 5 to a 6, but I've been spoiled by the bigger screen. Now, I can't imagine ever buying anything smaller.MakMan44 said:I'm not going to lie, I've been shying away from the Plus because of it.
That's all that had complained about it as of, when, Thursday? There is no way my 5S is going to bend unless it's put in a vise. I think they either used too thin Aluminum or got a bad batch into one plant. So, if and when it gets bent, even a tiny amount, does the stress crack a chip or other component inside? Time will tell. FUD (fear, uncertainty and doubt). All said, I'll probably get a 6 when my upgrade discount comes up.uncannymanny said:It's an $800 piece of electronics. Don't treat it like shit. Problem solved. All but 9 users have figured this out.
You mean the video that starts out at 2:23 pm and the phone was fine then when he bends it the time is 1:59-2:01pm?Al Zarilla said:So, did Apple somehow make a bad batch? As noted upthread these complaints came with the 5 as well and were forgotten for the same reason this will be: a few users thought their phones were indestructible because they're idiots.Al Zarilla said:That's all that had complained about it as of, when, Thursday? Yaz4Ever said:How about screen protectors? Anyone found one yet that they really like? From what I've seen, the rounded edges are causing all kinds of problems. Some companies have taken their screen protectors off Amazon and their own websites while they re-engineer them. Not sure if I want film or glass, but I'm curious to see if anyone here has found something they're happy with.
I was looking for that also, but could not find one...bowiac said:I got the Spigen case, and it's okay. I'm curious if anyone knows any super thin cases like it that fix the issue of the iPhone's curved sides? I hate the curvature of the phone, so I'm hoping to find a case that replicates the form of the iPhone 5?

yes, I am using the case I linked to aboveYaz4Ever said:ok, looks good. Thank you for sharing that soxhop. I'm assuming any case will cover up the rest of the phone.

I've never used a case before, and I have an apple leather case en route right now. It's not that I think this phone feels fragile so much as wanting to be able to toss it on a table or something without worrying about scratching the hell out of the aluminum on the back. Plus I figure it'll probably give me a better grip on the thing. My 5S was the first iPhone I had dropped since the original, and this one seems a bit more slippery than the 5S was.

The Spigen smooth black case arrived in the mail Saturday. It's perfect for me, giving me enough grip on the 6 to not feel like I'm about to drop it. It's unlikely to protect against a drop like a sturdier case, but for what I need it works great. This is the first case I've ever had on a smart phone, and it doesn't add much bulk plus it looks cool. For $10, would recommend. (The Amazon link on the previous page included numerous different case options re: styles, colors, etc.)

There are no licensed / Apple Approved (MFi) lightning to 30 pin adapters from third party vendors. Apple kept these to their greedy selves.

Just did some more research on these - there are 30 pin to lightning adaptors, but none of them seem to pass audio.
Still think I am making to much of the blackball conspiracy?bowiac said:While I don't actually agree with your observations (I feel most of the mainstream Watch coverage has been agnostic/skeptical, they have made fun of Apple for introducing a phablet), I also think you're reading too much into blackball conspiracy theories here. The tech media may be generally hesitant to make fun of the Watch because the last two product that many of them made fun of, the iPhone and iPad, were runaway best sellers. I think a lot tech reporters have acknowledged that Apple deserves the benefit of the doubt about new product lines.
Mainstream tech writers don't write too much negative stuff about Apple for the same reason mainstream basketball writers don't write too much negative stuff about the Spurs. The success has been so overwhelming that it's hard to do without risking sounding silly.
Well, until we get some kind of response from Apple, yeah.Silverdude2167 said:Still think I am making to much of the blackball conspiracy?
