Benintendi forever, Buchholz never.Does Buchholz play the part of Wiggum?
Yeah, they already announced he wouldn't play tonite and will start tomorrow. Not in starting lineup.
There are four of them. You take Triple, which is a baseball term meaning three of something, then you throw in the "B" sound.
The Tribbbles. This is no trouble at all.
So Mookie won't run up his back, I guess, if they both get on.“@JMastrodonato: Farrell says Benintendi will likely hit ninth, likes him in front of Mookie Betts”
Did they say he wouldn't play or wouldn't start? I think, especially if game is out of hand late, that getting him in for an inning in the field would be good.Yeah, they already announced he wouldn't play tonite and will start tomorrow.
Sorry, overstated there, they didn't comment on being a sub tonite, just that he would be in starting lineup tomorrow. I hope he doesn't get in tonite selfishly as I don't see myself staying up for the game and want to see his debut.Did they say he wouldn't play or wouldn't start? Also, to everyone else, stop forcing a nickname, it's like there's a bunch of shitty Chris Bermans in here.
Barnes, Blake, Betts, Boegarts, Bradley, Brockstar, Benintendi, and the double B - Brice Brentz. (Buchholz and Brad as well.)Four B's.

Don't forget BigpapiBarnes, Blake, Betts, Boegarts, Bradley, Brockstar, Benintendi, and the double B - Brice Brentz. (Buchholz and Brad as well.)
The B-5'2"s.Speaking of fitting into the current crew, if Benintendi takes the full-time LF job next year, and he, Betts & Bradley all are batting title qualifiers, it will be the first time since 1942 that a team has had three full-time outfielders 5'10" or under.
A couple of things here. First do we know when Benintendi was informed that he was being called up? It broke during the game on Monday night, but it's possible that he was told before it broke. The next question would be where was he when he got the call up? Portland had Monday as an off day, but were in Binghamton the day before. Either way he had to get from one coast to another and if the team was in transit on Monday he would need to arrive in Portland before heading out to Seattle. Not sure what the direct flight options are (if there are any) from Portland, Maine to Seattle. We get annoyed at a lot of shit that Farrell does or does not do, but to me this just seems to be a matter of letting the kid get there, get acclimated and try to make the transition of his first big league call up as easy as he could. As you point out there was a lefty pitching for Seattle, why unnecessarily force the situation? It was really annoying to see Farrell start Brentz over Benintendi. I realize a lefty was on the mound, but Brentz is basically an independent league player and we want Benintendi to gain as much experience as possible. When Young comes back, things change--Young will play against lefties, but that is no reason to play Brentz against lefties over Benintendi.
Well as Fan Since Boggs consistently reminds us Bryce Bentz, is a sorry excuse of a left fielder and an embarassment to the uniform who should be playing in Ft.. Myers and not with the Red Sox. They have to do whatever possible to get rid of him so the sooner Benintendi plays the better. Stop trying to be reasonable. Fan Since Boggs does not like reasonable.A couple of things here. I virtually promise 2 hard contacts by AB against Iwakuma.I'm psyched. I hope he plays well enough to be here to stay. I think he's the LF for the future either way, but I'm not interested in a JBJ back and forth to AAA learning curve. I saw him earlier in the season and the main difference is the stroke is so short and efficient. It's really the perfect swing if you were teaching someone how to hit. The timing should be there and if he's patient, he'll hit the stuff in the zone.
IIRC, He always does this when a position player is making their debut. They sit the first day, start the next.It was really annoying to see Farrell start Brentz over Benintendi. I'm ready for an electronic strike zone. Two of the pitches to Benintendi (in his last AB) were off the plate and yet were called strikes. When you have a hard throwing pitcher, and the umpire gives that pitcher an expanded zone a few inches off the plate, the hitter is defenseless. The umpires have been so inconsistent this year from inning to inning, game to game. The Benintendi AB was just one example of a trend that is far too common.
Agreed. My memory could be fuzzy but I'm pretty sure it played out that way with all of Betts, Boegarts, Moses, Abraham, and even Jesus.IIRC, He always does this when a position player is making their debut. They sit the first day, start the next.

It's been stated that Benintendi is going to be part of a platoon in LF so why in the world would it annoy you that he isn't starting against a LHP?It was really annoying to see Farrell start Brentz over Benintendi. So what are you saying? You believe Brock Holts defense in left is more reminiscent of an Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town? Or that you would just prefer to see his left field days in your Rearview Mirror?
