Just ridiculous:

These two teams are going to make a great NLCS matchup.
No triples ... would not bang

edit: Mookie would join Frank Robinson as the only players to win the MVP in each league. Robinson won in 1961 with the Reds and 1966 with the Orioles, five years apart. If Mookie does it this year, he would also do it five years apart (2018, 2023).

51 for 111 with 21 extra base hits.

How many times has someone hit .450 with at least 10 HR and 10 2B in one month? Seems good

Pretty much every day I check Mookie's Baseball-Reference page and get filled with admiration and sadness.

Don't think you need to eliminate Bonds and Ruth.

A month with a .400 average, 50 hits, and 10 HR has happened once since 1930.

If you want to add in defense, could be the best ever.
The more qualifiers you throw in, the more you know someone is trying to get a surprising result. If you drop the 50 hits, it's been done tons of times. Just look at some of the insane months Bonds put up from 2000 to 2004. The only reason he didn't get 50 hits because he was walking 30 times on his way to a 1.500 OPS.

The .400 average seems like doubling down on 50 hits. It's pretty difficult to get that many hits in a month and not bat .400+ (meaning 126 or more at-bats)... but at the same time, why be redundant, I assume it's intended to exclude someone else.

Forget the hits, the article says .400 and 10 HRs has been done 13 times ever. I didn't do the research but assume that's correct. He hit .455 with 11 HR as an above average 2B/RF.

We're obviously picking nits but it was a ridiculously great and historic month.

Another good chance to show just how incredible peak Barry Bonds was, like peak Wayne Gretzky, just head and shoulders above:

Bonds, Aug 2002: 1.581 OPS
Bonds, Aug 2003: 1.653 OPS
Bonds, Aug 2004: 1.615 OPS

Betts, Aug 2023: 1.355 OPS

The Mets called up Ronny Mauricio today, major league debut tonight. In his first AB he roped a 117.3 double over the RF's head, the single hardest hit ball for the Mets all season.

How are you talking about anything other than Dominguez right now?

Nutty bottom of the 9th in Cleveland... Guards down to their last strike with a runner on 1st get an infield single off the pitcher's foot. Then they started Kwan off with an automatic strike because they were late to call timeout for a pinch-runner. Kwan just slapped the first pitch into left field to tie the game anyway... and now on to the 10th. With the Twins clinging to a 6-5 lead in a slugfest in Texas, the Guards can't afford to lose any ground before they meet again this coming week.

Tampa Bay reliever threw 9 pitches, 3 strikeouts in the 10th... but there was an intentional walk with 2 outs. I don't think that's immaculate.

Cleveland ties it with a single by Jose Tena who was just called up again after an 8 at-bat cup of coffee a couple of weeks ago. Then they win on a pop fly to right-center... Raley was there and lined up to throw it in, but Siri stupidly stepped in front of him with his momentum taking him in the wrong direction. Bo Naylor ran home and Siri uncorked one of the worst throws you'll ever see.

Chapman in the 10th goes wild pitch, BB, single, single, gets yanked.

What. A. Damn. Shame.

Acuna's homer had a 1.000 expected batting average on Statcast. Arcia's homer in the 10th also would have been a homer in all 30 ballparks, but the expected batting average was .980. Is that because it could have been an out in April at Wrigley with the wind blowing in?

As my daughter would say, that's kinda cursed (and I love it). Does it hang out there all the time silently watching or just pop up for the song?
