You're welcome here anytime, Wingack. Unless your mfy keep winning, then we may have to ban you.
I think the idea of pressure in sports is overrated. They're all professionals who face pressure basically everyday, and they have for most of their lives (certainly for all of their careers). Once they step on the field/court, and particularly once the game gets going, I don't think "pressure" matters on a team level. Sure, some individual players can do better or worse in these situations, but that often balances out if it's a factor at all.
CC makes what, $25 million a year, and was signed to be a long-term ace. Isn't there pressure on him, especially facing his former team? Isn't there pressure on Girardi after 10 years in the Bronx and his huge gaffe in game 2? Ins't there pressure on the young players to live up to the hype?
And wasn't there pressure on the mfy do win against the Twins in the Wildcard game? For the Dodgers to beat Arizona? For the Stros to beat the Sox? Those situations all turned out fine for the team with pressure. Wasn't there as pressure on Cleveland in games 1 and 2? Those turned out okay, and the pressure certainly shifted to the mfy when they were behind, and that turned out okay in games 3 and 4.
In some cases, extra pressure can be good in helping a team or player focus, and since it can't be quantified, we're always talking theoretically about it.
So, yes, there is most certainly more pressure on Cleveland than mfy tomorrow. Is that, though, a bad thing?
