Seriously. Remember 2011 against Montreal. Oh my god. I'm pretty sure the rest of my life since then has just been me living as a ghost.I'm so glad it's not the Bruins in a Game 7 OT. This is literally breathtaking.
Oh dear God. Could not help but move like every second of that OT, sitting and being stationary that game was not an option. I was so worried about Thomas giving up a soft one from like the blue line. Every change was pure agony given the massive speed disadvantage that team faced. Julien's system had been beaten too many times by odd man rushes off transitional hockey. Was convinced it was going to happen again.Seriously. Remember 2011 against Montreal. Oh my god. I'm pretty sure the rest of my life since then has just been me living as a ghost.
I go back with the Sharks to Jamie Baker knocking out Detroit in 1994 and have been watching Sharks playoff games late at night since I moved East in 2003, and I've never seen anything like that. They had a four-goal comeback against LA in the playoffs several years ago, but they weren't behind so late in the game and it wasn't a game 7.People other than me in the Bay Area still care about hockey!
You certainly can't ignore giving up all those pp goals, but the bad call precipitated everything. Don't make that, none of it happens. They guessed, based on Pavelski's injury, and shifted the entire game.Goucher and Hnidy can't stop talking about how they lost on a blown call. Pretty sure the part they lost was where they gave up 4 goals on a powerplay to a team that was missing one of its top forwards.
both things are kinda true here... NHL will get roasted for the callGoucher and Hnidy can't stop talking about how they lost on a blown call. Pretty sure the part they lost was where they gave up 4 goals on a powerplay to a team that was missing one of its top forwards.
I was live on the air on the UC Davis campus radio station in 1994 when the Sharks got KOed in the playoffs in OT. I know a handful of Sharks fans that go back that far or further, and I'm happy for them.I go back with the Sharks to Jamie Baker knocking out Detroit in 1994 and have been watching Sharks playoff games late at night since I moved East in 2003, and I've never seen anything like that. I went to bed! I can believe I missed everything I am now reading here. F***!I left the bar during the 2nd intermission... wow
I saw a tweet where the ref told Gallant he cross checked him in the face. Which is blatantly not true.Possibly the worst, most game-changing call I’ve ever seen, especially given neither ref had an arm up until play was stopped due to Pavelski’s injury. It’s a minor penalty at the very worst
Video review for majors is pretty much a shoo-in at this point
I agree. There was no immediate call on the ice, and maybe it’s worth 2 at most. The injury was more caused by Stastny than Eakin, yet they still assessed it to him. Wonder if we’ll get a comment from the NHL...Usually I fall asleep to the west games but my cable is out on the bedroom. I don't think I would have lasted the 3rd with it being 3-0. That said, watched it this morning. Holy crap. No way that is 5. Borderline two. Gotta think the injury played a factor in the call when it really shouldn't.
I seriously doubt it. I can’t see anyone high up putting a ref under the bus.Wonder if we’ll get a comment from the NHL...
Yep. I goes in the books as 4/5 for the major. How do they score that for power play stats? I looked on the game sheet and it says San Jose was 4/9 on PP - but it looked like there were only 4 Vegas penalties...does it re-set to a new power play after each goal in a major?
That was a bad call on Eakin, the problem was the second hit on Pavelski as he was stumbling backwards is what caused his injury.I'd like to point out, since nobody else has, that that was an atrocious penalty call. This is a two-minute cross check.
