Feels like that was a missed call but I don't know the rule.Wow, I'm surprised that's legal to push a blocker into his own teammate who called for a fair catch.
Even though it's not against the rules, it seems like it should be. I guess it's up to the receiving team to know that fair catch has been called and get the fuck out of the way so they can't be used as pawns. Probably something BB coaches. That's wild that that's not a penalty
It really does, but I don't believe I've ever seen it before. Penalty or not, that's 100% on the Denver blocker for being that close (just a yard or two in front of the returner). Even if he wasn't blocked into his own returner, he didn't give his teammate any room at all to step up.Even though it's not against the rules, it seems like it should be. I guess it's up to the receiving team to know that fair catch has been called and get the fuck out of the way. Probably something BB coaches.
Is it not against the rules? The NFL shill ref came on and said the guy on the Broncos initiated contact. I wasn't sure if he meant he did it on his own and therefore it was legal, or if it he was doing the NFL thing and saying wow amazing call when he wasn't.Even though it's not against the rules, it seems like it should be. I guess it's up to the receiving team to know that fair catch has been called and get the fuck out of the way so they can't be used as pawns. Probably something BB coaches.
This makes sense. Its certainly something Hackett should vow to never have happen again.Even though it's not against the rules, it seems like it should be. I guess it's up to the receiving team to know that fair catch has been called and get the fuck out of the way so they can't be used as pawns. Probably something BB coaches.
The OLs were REALLY bad. Just missing protection assignments all over.I can’t decide if I just watched two terrific defensive fronts or two wretched offensive lines. Especially down the stretch, neither QB had time to do anything.
Yeah that was a super-gritty performance by Hopkins.Wow. He looked like he only had one more kick in him.
Rare, although Tucker was the interview last week on SNF.How often does the kicker get the post-game on-field interview?
I was listening to the game and wishing I was watching (walked in my house to see the FG) to figure that out. Maybe it didn’t matter. I think Denver’s D is very very good but their O is not. So you get that. I was mildly rooting for Denver to win so they would t be coming off a loss for the Jets game. Will be beautiful if Jets can win at Acrisure/Lambeau/Mile High in the same year but this Denver D is tough.I can’t decide if I just watched two terrific defensive fronts or two wretched offensive lines. Especially down the stretch, neither QB had time to do anything.
Another gap in the NFL rulebook. There absolutely could be cases where return team players are intentionally thrown into the PR, and that would defeat the entire spirit of the fair catch rule. That's wild that that's not a penalty
I’ve seen Slater do it before.Another gap in the NFL rulebook. There absolutely could be cases where return team players are intentionally thrown into the PR, and that would defeat the entire spirit of the fair catch rule.
Well, Jesus Christ was a pretty down to earth dude so it kind of makes sense.Hopkins is an interesting guy - starts off with some weird lord and Jesus savior stuff and then sounds like the most down to earth dude talking about his kicks
Oh yeah, since you’re mentioning this, did the TV broadcast have any info on Gordon? Westwood one guys didn’t know why he was benched/not playing.Broncos need to trade Gordon and some of the other vets, they're done, and in particular with Gordon... if you aren't gonna play him move him.
Nope no injury announcement, just Hackett trying to be clever I think. That team is a disaster, less talent than people thought, terribly coached, and honestly... the vibes are real bad.Oh yeah, since you’re mentioning this, did the TV broadcast have any info on Gordon? Without knowing what’s going on there, I’d guess his fumble issues this season.Oh yeah, since you’re mentioning this, did the TV broadcast have any info on Gordon? Westwood one guys didn’t know why he was benched/not playing.
Except... he got a full workload last week and didn't fumble, started today got 3 carries and was... fine. Never saw the field again. Benching a guy for fumbles 3 games after he last fumbled is just weird. Benching your best passcatcher and passblocking RB when your line is getting killed in pass pro is weird.Without knowing what’s going on there, I’d guess his fumble issues this season.
But they haven’t been bad enough to justify feeding Mike Boone carries, so…?
True, but he always nailed the crossbarWell, Jesus Christ was a pretty down to earth dude so it kind of makes sense.
Apparently the fact that the Denver player was actively blocking made it legal. If he just stood there and didn’t try to block. Not legal.Another gap in the NFL rulebook. There absolutely could be cases where return team players are intentionally thrown into the PR, and that would defeat the entire spirit of the fair catch rule.
it’s a solid attempt, I’ll give you that, but being nailed to vs nailing is where it falls a little flat for me. It’s pretty funny but could be great.True, but he always nailed the crossbar

You’re slump is most people’s A game.I'm in a slump
I met him at a corporate event a few months ago. He took individual photos with everyone there and answered questions for about two hours - outlasting many of the suits in attendance. He did seem almost too good to be true, but it was real easy to like the guy. You’re slump is most people’s A game.
Back to the game. Russell Wilson has that Arod quality where he is such a try hard that I almost pity him which is a very strange emotion/feeling to have because the man is a loaded handsome professional athlete. It’s one of those things where it’s like yeah, that’s all great, but I don’t know if one single person on this planet genuinely likes him and he wants to be adored so much and I find that so sad.
For his sake I hope some people do like him because it seems like his past teammates and maybe even current ones do not.I met him at a corporate event a few months ago. Took everything in my power to not mention I was at XLIX, but I didn’t want to get fired.
The only other thing I’m wondering about is whether his shoulder injury is such that he can start out a game making some sharp throws, but with continued attempts it becomes too painful and fatigued to be effective for the entire game. It's so weird with Wilson. You want to attribute a great deal of it it to the Broncos dysfunction, but outside of the scripted drive and the blown coverage on the TD, he was pedestrian
Here’s some numbers…ouchNot sure if anyone else brought it up but the Chargers benched JC Jackson at the half. Dude's been a disaster all year for them in coverage. Got his pay day and said I'm good. Haha although maybe the ankle injury isn't healed yet, but that doesn't explain his decision making (or lack thereof)
He had a bone removed from his ankle this offseason, might be not good.
