Ron Rivera should be fired for not only going to Wentz but not knowing his team could be eliminated today in the post game.
Raiders could also get in if they match the Pats at 8-9.
Pats would need a lot to go right to get into the playoffs if they lose to Buffalo.
Raiders don't retire numbers. Al Davis didn't believe in it. So, Stidham is wearing Daryle Lamonica's number.
And the Raiders have the tiebreaker over the Pats and can get to 8-9. And I believe the Jags would too if they lose to the Titans.
Basically, if the Pats lose next week, they need a Jets win, a Jags win, and the Raiders and Steelers to finish worse than 8-9 overall (meaning they both have to lose this week or next).
I mean, the Pats are basically in the playoffs right now because they need to win or they’re probably done.
None of this is outlandish though. JAX will be favorites next week, and NYJ might be favored if Thompson has to go
I should add that the Jets have to lose this week too. If the Jets win out, they’ll be 9-8. So they need to lose this week (which would eliminate them from the playoffs) but nonetheless beat a Miami team that will have everything to play for.
Not outlandish, I guess, but the odds of everything happening right have to be under 20%.
My favorite storyline this season is Geno Smith > Zach Wilson… aside from the fact that Geno also > Mac.
Heard on ESPN radio that the Pats have a 31% chance of making the playoffs. Guessing that's about 15% chance of beating Buaffalo plus another 15% chance of all the other games ending up perfectly for them.
