Rivers gets killed by a lot of people, but he gives it everything he has.

I used to be one of those people until the AFCCG when Rivers played Pats tough on one good knee while LT sucked his thumb on the sidelines.

Four fumbles in this game:
- Bruce Miller on the goal line: recovered by SD
- Kaepernick sack - recovered by SD for a TD
- Rivers sack on final drive - recovered by SD
- fumble in overtime - recovered by SD

... and that's the game, folks.

The 49ers' 355 rushing yards are the most for a losing team in NFL history. The Chiefs had just set the record on 12/23/12 with 352.

Per Schefter, four teams can clinch playoff spots with a win today: Seattle, Green Bay, Dallas and Pittsburgh.

Dallas would clinch the division with a win, while Seattle would be in the driver's seat for the division. Pretty sure Green Bay's division still comes down to next week's game against Detroit. I don't pay enough attention to the AFC to know what is going on with the Steelers.

Dallas, Seattle and Green Bay are all tied at 10-4, so if they all win out (which is entirely possible) then Seattle is No. 1, Green Bay is No. 2 and Dallas No. 3.

Green Bay must beat Detroit next week to win the division. The Lions won their earlier meeting and would therefore win the tiebreak if they win again next week.

First they have to beat Tampa. If they somehow lose today and Detroit wins, next week's game doesn't matter.
Maybe not to them, but that scenario, coupled with Green Bay winning that game and Dallas winning out would get Dallas the 1 seed.

The same would be true if Detroit loses today and wins next week.

From Ray Ratto's column on this Niners loss:

"This was not a microcosm of a lost season, though. This was worse than that, the equivalent of having conjunctivitis in one eye, and then sticking a thumb in the other. It was a note from the home office saying, 'Never think it can’t get worse. It can ALWAYS get worse.'"

I like Ratto. Sharp dude. Shocking when he says something nice. The sweater man.

I switched over to watch something else at 28 - 7 also, never looked back at it and found out on this thread who won.

I'm a admitted Clausen-lover, but I acknowledge he's a mediocre quarterback at best. That being said, look at what an improvement mediocre is over Jay Cutler!

So far the Dolphins have two offside penalties and a timeout on a two-point conversion attempt.
Now let's add a successful conversion (from the 0.5 yard line) and a personal foul

Not actually tied.  But yeah.

Why do Archuleta and McCarthy never say 'NFL?'  "National Football League," every single time.  It's really weird.

I really hope ATL-CAR is not the Sunday night game. I might boycott out of principle.

If that were the only "Division winner" game it would be, but Detroit-Green Bay is also for the division.

But ATL-CAR is also a win or go home game, DET and GB have clinched playoff spots, right?

Am I crazy or could a punter pretty easily punt the ball way the hell up in the air for an onside and have a jump ball?

Man, what a bullshit call against the Colts. Taunting? Really? Guy gets stuck for a big loss on third down and conveniently there is a penalty giving Dallas a first down.

Have not seen a defensive player since R Lewis circa 2000. Capable of taking over a game single handedly
