So about those rams.

How fucking bad was Jeff fisher?

The rams had this large of a turnaround in less than a year after he left.

Most times it takes a new coach a year to show changes.

I hate what BB and the Pats have done to me. Watching the Rams coaching staff celebrate over winning the division and all I want to say is act like you have been there.

I am a curmudgeon and an asshole apparently.

The Rams have certainly been a great story this season, but part of their West title has to be attributed to half the Seahawks defense dying.

And yes, I'm bitter.

In the context of the Rams, what they accomplished vs expectations, and with a QB written off after his rookie year — probably.

Fisher going on his PR tour this week taking credit for their success this year was pretty rich

49ers right now are kind of reminiscent of 1980 when Montana took over for Steve Deberg. I was at the Nov. 30 game at Candlestick when Joe beat the Pats (naturally for back then) in a close game.

I can't believe they let him stay in one place for 15 years. He had Eddie George and Steve McNair and couldn't do what Antowain Smith and a QB in his first year of NFL experience did.

This year just proves how bad he was.

Yes. But the old school football writers trip over themselves to blow Fisher (because he dishes news) and it would not surprise me if 1 of the 32 are stupid enough to hire him. All it takes is one.

special-teams play Belichick would absolutely fap to in the Seahawks-Cowboys game.

edit: dude managed to flip it backwards while diving forward hard enough that he actually did a forward somersault into the endzone. If you watch sports to see top athletes being athletic, it doesn't get a lot better than that.

Jimmy is unbelievable. Good for him and the Niners.
I don’t know how anyone can find it in his heart to do anything but wish Jimmy the very best. Except when he is playing the Pats.

Why — to avoid some faux controversy? Because the timing did work out for us?

Chickenshit.

Maybe some people think he should have signed a long-term deal, to rot on the bench wondering if he was ever going to know if he was good enough to play in the NFL.

I think it's nuts. Hell, the more former Brady backups do well in the NFL, the more incredible both Belichick and Brady look. The list keeps getting longer - Bledsoe, Hoyer, Mallett, Cassell, Brissett, Garoppolo, to say nothing of Flutie and Testaverde. If I'm a GM and Brady's backup is available for less than a king's ransom, I'm strongly considering it. It's like the opposite of reactive devaluation.

Our 2nd round pick from SF is getting later in the day. 17-0. Nope, 16-2!
Well, now we've got 3 quarters coming in which we're going to learn a lot about Garoppolo, and a lot about our potential AFCCG opponents in Jacksonville. That defense is fierce and will now be out for blood, against a team that for all its promise is still 4-10.

49ers defense looks good but makes a lot of mistakes (penalties). It’s beginning to look like the 9ers offense with Jimmy is legit.

Cowboys have a real path to the playoffs now that Atl and Det lost. A win today and things get really interesting.

Does a Jax loss materially help New England? Haven't read through the whole thread.
If you believe that Jacksonville is the best threat to keep the Patriots out of the super bowl, then you want them (A) playing on wildcard weekend, and (B) not facing the Pats until the AFCCG. That means the current standings, #1 NE, #2 PIT, #3 JAX, work out great for us. Unless the Jags lose, they go to Pittsburgh for the Divisional, and then only the winner goes to NE.

So we don't mind if Jacksonville wins right now, to stay out of the #4 spot. We mind only very slightly if they leapfrog PIT for the 2nd bye. We start to mind a bit more if we lose to the Jets, but really, that's on us.

Lose to Bryce Petty in the last game at home with everything on the line, and you deserve what you get.

In other news, Dan Bailey is trolling Pete Carroll with these haircut FGs

Doesn't JAX and PIT losing this week clinch the #1 for NE?
