Jets dodged bullet
Was it a clear recovery before going out of bounds?
worth a challenge?
Fumble out of the endzone would be jets ball anyway, no?

Isn't it a touchback either way?

Sherman definitely commits PI in the end zone. No call. Foles is no Flacco.
That was an absurd non-call, Sherman was beat by 5yds, clearly committed PI in the end zone and the Ref was right there.
Wonder what Sherman has to do to actually get called for PI.

That was the most Browns play ever

Disagree.  They put together an excellent drive, running and passing, and McCown made an aggressive dive to break the plane.  In doing so, yes, he left the ball exposed and one of the Jets' defenders got a helmet on it.

But they are competing hard.  If I'm the Browns HC, I have zero problem with what happened there.  Ask every guy in the locker room how they feel about the QB laying out like that and they'll all say "fuck yeah."  If they play every play like that they'll be fine.

Change his name to Cromartie?

It should be 14-0 Carolina, if not for a terrible OPI call on Greg Olsen and a horrible drop by Ted Ginn.

Every Patriot would be utterly horrified if Brady did that.

Don't you remember the Broncos' hard-ons when Elway did it in the Super Bowl?

I think literally every other DB in the league would have been flagged.  That non-call was all bout Sherman.  Rams score anyway at least.

Also: if you're the Browns, you kind of have to work harder to overcome your Brownsness and turn the fate of the franchise around.  Are you really going to shit on your QB for competing too hard?  Don't think so.

It's the first game of the season. And McCown is most definitely not Elway. I get what you're saying, but having a drive end in that manner was most definitely very Brownsian.

6 XP misses today seems extreme.

Yeah, you're probably right.  If there are say, 50 touchdowns today, I wouldn't be surprised to see 3-4 misses though.  Either way, it'll definitely be an impact somewhere, especially if the weather gets bad in a couple of spots, and particularly at the end of games where teams score late touchdowns and the assholes start puckering a little tighter.

I do, yes. But the defenders back then weren't quite strong enough to eat concrete and bend steel. Now they are monsters of strength and speed. QB's laying out now are a humongous risk of injury. Note, see the play against the Jets. QB already out.

One miss today is my guess. Or 0.

Great throw and catch from Hoyer to Hopkins.  Hopkins is really, really good.

And then we have our first missed XP.  So there you go.

I am embarrassed to admit that I glanced at my Red Zone broadcast and saw a guy with black arms taking the snap and couldn't figure out why they were calling him Manziel.

That's Luck in a nutshell. Makes a great play stepping up in the pocket deep to TY. The very next play he floats one up there for grabs, picked.

Alright, that's so Browns. 3rd and 4, Manziel breaks off a 20-yard scramble, called back for a chop block.

Fake edit: on 3rd and 19 the play after, Johnny football throws a gorgeous 40 yard TD, hitting receiver perfectly in stride.

And a Rex Ryan team. Get a big pick, commit a PF on the run back, and then burn a timeout on the change of possession.

Browns then called for illegal formation on PAT.  With the five yard penalty I go for 2 I think.

Alex Smith turns down an easy run for a first down and instead gets his tight end killed.  The Chiefs need Kelce so hopefully for them it isn't too bad.

Wouldn't they have to try the 2 point conversion from the 7?
