I was hoping we could play this way with athletic mids. can we not get away with a 4-3-3 type? I'm not entirely sure how formations work
If the formation starts with "4" it means that there's a left back, two center backs, and a right back.
If the formation starts with "3" or "5" it means that there are three center backs, and two wing-backs, who usually are the only true wide players on their flank.
Man nothing like the USMNT struggling through a slog against a bunch of barely pros in front of a 1/2 empty stadium because tickets were $100.

The first one was a “Gregg gets strikers tap-ins when his system works” special, but that second one was just straight up a nice shot.
Yeah, I think he would have liked to get it to Zardes but there was no spacing because of the T&T turnover.
This team needed a bust-it-open type game like this.

Morris would have liked to shoot but he only has the one foot. Nice little outside foot pass though, he makes the most of that right foot.
Wonder why, maybe a bit of the unselfishness because Boyd is more of a shooter. But most of this all came off Pulisic distributing and we know that's gonna be the recipe.
I think he creates space better, one of the benefits of more senior players, they tend to be in the right place and make the right runs. It's like why Chicharito who isn't fast, isn't big, isn't strong, and only shoots from inside the box has had a long long career at the highest levels and so many players who have all the tools fail
