We could offer him to Washington for a low A ball pitcher who has been out since June with an arm injury, but I'd guess they would probably turn us down. What can we get for Schwarber?

He may be entertaining, but his career OBP of .303 sucks. I also love his 131/15 K/W ratio.Harold Reynolds: "Javier Baez is the most entertaining player in all of baseball". Given his level of analysis + his history of sexual harassment, I can never figure out how he's still employed.
I prefer the timeline where MLB doesn't do anything about "the stuicky stuff," the Sox are 10 games back, and we trade Garrett Richards for Jared Kelenic.Interesting observation from a Giants blogger.

Given the buying frenzy, there are several teams who should be moving a passel of their guys into the "available" column right now.Jon Heyman says the Twins are now listening on Kenta Maeda, who is a guy I'd like to have.
Must have been, he's already deleted it.
It was a fake Passan account
Ya gotta laugh!
If we weren't in conversation with Detroit for a guy like Schoop, the kind of guy that would basically be the cromulent 1st baseman we all think we need, I think it has to mean they're planning on Schwarber playing 1st (at least some of the time). So does Chaim think they're just fine as is or is he cooking with about six stoves right now? Because I don't really see anything in between with today's lack of noise from him
Not real.
I'd say BuxtonIf I said 60% or better the Yankees have either Bryant or Story on their roster in the next 53 minutes....too high or too low?
Given the costs involved with some of the guys moved today, particularly ones that would have looked good in a Sox uniform, I would think "doesn't have the bankroll to compete" fits pretty well in between those two extremes. So does Chaim think they're just fine as is or is he cooking with about six stoves right now? Because I don't really see anything in between with today's lack of noise from him
Welcome to my world here on Maui. Rental cars IF available at about $750 a day. It's like a post-pandemic phenomenon of everyone going to the beach and renting cars all at once. Last year was such a dud, everyone is going nuts this year.
He thinks there is nothing he can afford that will put them over the topSo does Chaim think they're just fine as is or is he cooking with about six stoves right now? Because I don't really see anything in between with today's lack of noise from him
Those are biometric trackers. Basically have become commonplace in most sports now.Baez just got the news..MLB Network just showed him walking off the field while he was doing some running. He was wearing some kind of....sports bra. He got his wish, he wanted to play with Lindor.
Post #1606, scroll up...something about the A's and Josh Harrison. For entertainment purposes, what did it say?
...but I still won't vote for a pitcher for MVP
I'm old. I have an Apple watch and I thought I was ahead of the curve. Those are biometric trackers. Basically have become commonplace in most sports now.
Actually, I found it--the fake Passan tweet was about the Yankees getting Bryant.Post #1606, scroll up...something about the A's and Josh Harrison.
The Yankees were in on Bryant. For entertainment purposes, what did it say?
1--Deadline is 4 pmAre the Red Sox only getting Schwarber and that’s it? No pitchers? A real first baseman? What the hell is going on around here? (Lombardi voice)
Pshh, kid's stuff. Chavis is gonna have like a 131/4 K/W ratio. Beat that, Javy!He may be entertaining, but his career OBP of .303 sucks. I also love his 131/15 K/W ratio.
I have a deep seated feeling that the MFY's blocked the Sox from getting Rizzo.I’d be satisfied with a good glove 1b like Eyechart at this point. If the plan is for Schwarber to play first, I don’t want Buckner redux in the late innings. I really felt Rizzo would have been a perfect fit here.
I'm foolishly still holding out hope here. Getting Bryant late would be awesome.Really hoping Chaim waited out the Bryant market.
Certainly starting to look like itAre the Red Sox only getting Schwarber and that’s it? No pitchers? A real first baseman? What the hell is going on around here? (Lombardi voice)
Think that extra WC spot is definitely playing a role here. Lots of teams can think of themselves as playoff contenders without much squinting. The whole trade deadline thing this year feels a bit frantic.
These teams have just under 60 games remaining. (Some of which are likely double headers.)
So that's 12-ish extra starts from your SP acquisitions.
NY (for example) is 8 games behind two teams, with TOR a game behind them. Sure, they're 3.5 games out of a WC berth, but TOR and SEA are right there with them.
True. But having more to offer doesn't mean you want to meet the price. The Red Sox have the chips to get Bryant if they wanted. But they are weighing long-term impact of doing so and likely won't meet that price. If Kris Bryant is on the block, I doubt we are getting him. Other teams have more to offer.
Too soonFun distraction from the non action:
@PeterBotte
If the Phillies ever get Matt Harvey, they’d have had Lee, Harvey, Oswalt and Kennedy.
