As someone who listened to every episode of the Go Bayside! Podcast, I welcome his takes. There's really a lot to unpack in a lot of these episodes.

2 things that will never get old for me

Fred's Jagr impression

Guy from Machine. I was crying in my car when Joe was telling Fred was an Otter was from Urban Dictionary,
I’m guessing from context that this is Machine as in Machine/Ramrod?

I for one would like to propose that Guy From Machine get a regular spot on the show. Maybe replace the time wasted on Bird and Sarge and get more GFM...
I couldn't disagree more. What makes him great is because he's not a regular and they haven't beaten the thing into the ground.

I do miss MAHK GEMELLI

I would presume? I don't live in Boston anymore but it's a gay bar.

Jesus this "Brady tipline" bit is gonna SUCK! I really can't wait for free agency to begin so this garbage can end!
Ty Anderson had the nerve last night to suggest he was looking forward to watching the Bruins big game instead of sitting through two more hours of 'what Brady is eating for breakfast today' talk. Zolak ended up going after him because he's insufferable. It was nice that 985 built themselves on talking Bruins and are now doing the same lazy shit that led to EEI's downfall.

Boston
I would be completely on board with them extending out ”The Stack” as a longer segment, especially during the winter doldrums when they could easily fit in an hour of material. The Buffett’s Margaritaville coming to Boston stuff yesterday was great. Fred is always at his best when he can just riff on the headlines and not do his contrived angry curmudgeon schtick for some bit. I’d much prefer a longer version of “The Stack” over some of the more played out segments like “Armpits of America”.

That's what made the "dating on demand" segments back in the day, Fred hearing these bizarre people and just riffing on it for half an hour. I think those were the best things they've ever done. Although Jagr voice always gets me too.

Dating on Demand was equal mocking of both sexes. I miss it. I also miss Rich Goes to the Movies and What’s In Your Stack?
I think you misinterpreted this one. There was a very not so masculine man on dating on demand once. He talked about liking “sports” and “guy stuff!“. The drop got played all the time.

I assure you it isn't contrived nor a schtick.

Fred is insufferable about the Coronavirus. Even when I agree with him, he’s incapable of showing any empathy to people this might impact more than him. I imagine it’s probably a much bigger deal to Rich because of Mary’s immune system after her cancer. He’s captain hardo about it, yet stormed out of the studio when even slightly challenged on his opinion.

edit: he’s been much more reasonable since then.

Yeah, Fred freaking out today was something. He just snapped. Then basically admitted he's scared. It was almost a Jessie Spanno moment.

They shouldn't have let him back in studio. Seriously fuck Fred. For weeks now all he's done is talk about how not worried he was in the face of everyone else's concerns and today he had his little tantrum? Seriously fuck this guy. "I don't appreciate the way you've been talking to me." Because he's talked to 2 doctors. Is it anything like his "scout friend" who told him that Mookie Betts was overrated?

I'd generally agree with you, but I thought it was better he came back and apologized and realized he really f'd up. Not to go all V&N on this thread, because it's not the place, but the federal government and others pushing this as a nothing burger isn't helping anyone, which is what happened today. I'm glad Rich actually stood up for himself and called out Fred.

There's a 100% chance Fred self-quarantines himself for 2 weeks when he gets back from Aruba so he gets time off.

The idea of being quarantined in Aruba itself didnt sound bad until I realized it probably meant being stuck in a hotel room for two weeks staring at the beautiful weather outside.

I agree, although I'd rather be in prison than quarantined in an inside cabin on a cruise ship with 2-4 people.

Unrelated, but it's even worse when you see people in the medical field pushing this narrative. I'm sure everyone's seen that marker board "Seen today in a Doctor's Office" meme by now where it equates viral scares with election years (despite most of these viruses originating overseas, in countries whose election years don't necessarily sync up with ours) and that it's a media-driven tactic to drum up support for some side or another; I've already called out two people for it on Facebook, one who was smart enough to realize the same thing and took it down, one who continues to dismiss it as nothing major and was then backed up by someone else saying "from a medical perspective" it was ridiculous overreaction.

After having a conversation with a local bartender who is 8000% convinced Chris Cornell, Chester Bennington, Robin Williams, and every other celebrity who was ever found dead of suicide was murdered because they were on the verge of exposing the Hollywood pedophile ring and NOT because they were depressed, I begin to wonder if everyone should be allowed to vote any longer or if it should require an aptitude test.

Mike Judge is going to be remembered as a prophet...by those few who survive the collapse of civilization due to the high level of stupid that is spreading even faster than coronavirus.

To get this back on-topic... is there any chance Fred is getting burnt out in general? This show has been on the air for a long time and, well, not everyone is Carlson and McKenzie when it comes to longevity as a Boston radio duo. Is it possible the sports-driven nature of the show is just old to him at this point and it's not as much fun as it used to be?

The BJBS guys are basically saying they have an article coming that Fred’s wife is cheating on him and it’ll be out soon. I hope they don’t and if they had that they wouldn’t be dicks about it. Ruining someone’s personal life isn’t cool. If they need to put it out then so be it but shitposting on Twitter about it sucks. I hope we hold people here to a better standard.

The dude, stupidly, tried to call in and Fred dumped his number on-air. Trying to take the high road when trolling Fred about his wife having an affair and tossing around his kid’s name was an...interesting...approach.

What the fuck??? Good for Fred.

Here's the jackass
I haven't seen him around in a while, but I remember he had a buddy, only talked about the talk radio hosts and ratings, and always linked to his incoherent ramblings on whatever terrible website they ran together. There was little value add there. Once Minihane left and EEI died as a rival, that was pretty much the last I heard of them. I guess they have to find some way to pass their time though.

This has less to do with the show but whoever is in charge of getting the show up on spotify should be fired. It's just constantly cutting off midsentence and too often it'll either replay a minute or two of stuff they've already said or things they haven't done yet. Quality is really slipping

Must be an issue on their end since the TuneIn Radio feed also keeps getting cut off multiple times during their show.

It was a cheap shot in response to Fred posting that he hoped I die through some sort of Michael Hutchence choking device. Fred deleted those tweets soon after because he's Fred.

Since Kirk left the market it seems the whole Sports Radio Debatez! Are over. It was stale when Kirk was leading it and WEEI was the worse for it.Now does anyone care?

You got into a spat on Twitter so you concocted a rumor about his wife? What in the fuck is wrong with you?

Totally agree. I just don't understand why you would direct your energy toward constantly trolling a local sports radio market. I get giving them criticism, but this is crazy.

Its literally a radio show.

The Sports Hub app stream is very reliable.
