It sure looks like the Sox are trying to push the agenda. It's as though they've looked into the Crystal ball and determined that FA costs and trade expectations will rise as the off-season progresses. Which might be true.
The Red Sox are making their best and last offer. If Lester wants 6-130 he can sign it tomorrow, if not, then the Sox pul the offer and move on. Not surprising negotiating tactic. They have a ton of balls in the air and need to move on. They feel this is a fair offer and want to know
This deal is not going to get done with the Sox if these are the terms, some team is going to offer 7 years and more money. At least that is my prediction.
