Another option for the ESPN coverage is you can sign up for a 7 day free trial of Sling TV and just cancel before the end of the 7 days.

They're letting folks in for ten quid today, under sixteens get in free with an adult. A lot of people will be catching flights, flying home...it'll be a different crowd on the course and in the stands. I hope it's busy, but it's a great bonus for anyone in the area.

It is a pitch and putt still this morning.  The claim is that weather will come in later.  With no rough on the course though, bogies are very hard to find, and most seem to involve 3 putts.

So even if the weather comes in as promised I would be surprised if the champion isn't at least -15/-16

Schneiderjans is making quite the run at this, even with a bad bogie at 3.  At the very least he is going to put a lot of pressure on Dunne for low Am

Argh, ESPN is pissing me off right now.  Show the golf.....

All that's going on is Ollie is two shots off the lead on a par 5.  Why would you want to see that?  This is quality practice range footage.

Today will be a day to test the Watch ESPN technology infrastructure. I have already had to restart the app a number of times. I suspect this will only get worse.

Andy Sullivan with 6 birdies on the first 10 holes,  but inexplicably is the only player on the field to not make at least par on #5, as he screwed that up royally with a double

Ollie just hit a duck hook on 17 that looks like something I might hit.

I have a noon lunch meeting. It's okay to skip it, right? It's not really all that relevant to me and no one will really know if I'm not there.

I just cancelled a client meeting by saying that I had an unavoidable conflict, so mark me down as "yes."

You know, I really want Day to win this, but I simply cannot root against Spieth.  Guy is playing historically good golf and he's just a pleasure to watch.

I can mollify the dark side of my psyche by rooting for the inevitable Sergio meltdown.

Maybe it was my inattentiveness, but I didn't get that either.  I did hear them say that he wasn't getting "stance relief" but I have no idea how that would have come into play anyway.  But from where he took his drop, it appeared to be about getting relief from the putting surface itself.

Maybe something about a local rule?

can someone explain why he got relief from the practice green? If espn did I missed it?

BBC have a rules guy in the studio who said he got free reliief cos he landed in a designated putting area.

May have been because of the grandstands.

I heard them mention the stands, but I thought it was 'not because of the stands' or something to that effect? Tough to tell.

Don't want him taking an iron off the putting surface?

I'm trying to imagine the conversation about who to get for a golfing spokesperson for Ace Hardware.

"Let's get Tiger!"

"He's still way too expensive and he's playing like shit.  Can't have him."

"What about Hunter Mahan?  He can't cost much?"

(Silence, followed by high fives all around.)
