I really hope Sergio accidentally steps on his ball when he walks up and does the zen voodoo alignment thing. Not sure what that is or what he actually sees straddling the ball.

Never thought I'd say this but thank God its on ESPN.

Agreed. Their coverage compared to the Open last month is significantly better. Everything is better, the angles, the onscreen info, the analysis, hell, even the sound and cadence of the announcer's voices is better.

I played my early morning 9 and went grocery shopping already today. It's not the final round, but I'm so ready to lounge around and watch the next few hours unfold here.

Sergio and Speith have already been asked to speed it up.

Probably shouldn't even have included Speith in that but he has the unfortunate luck of playing with Serg

Last few groups are putting like shit early it seems and not taking advantage of the course so far.  Making pars on 1-2 is losing stokes to the field

Front 9 is basically playing to probably a 33-34 average right now I think

You know you're game is on when you hit the iron, say "oh fuck" and then you land 18 feet wide side of pin, hole high, with a bunker guarding the pin. DJ's misses give him legit birdie putts.

DJ still needs to make some putts today, but as long as he hits it like he has been, he'll have 3-4 2 putt birdies today.

It really depends on whether the top handful of guys get their act together. Right now everyone in the last 4 groups is treading water on easy holes.

I think it is possible we'll have 20 or so people with a fighters chance tomorrow, unless DJ does something silly like get hot and throw a 64 on the board today

I'm going to complain a bit about the coverage. Show DJ's shots live god dammit. He's the leader. I'm sick of "earlier" being the lead word on his shot highlight.

And why the obsession with Zach Johnson? Feel like I've seen all his shots and he's not doing anything today.

Coverage isn't what we think. They had Speith's birdie on the par 3 up on the website a full 2-3 minutes before he putted and they acted as if it was live.

That's twice in a row whe the coverage praises Spieiths composure, right then, the announcer was speechless trying to describe it... And speith proceeds to hit a shot curse and slam his club. Just thought that was funny.

Spieth's name gets listed above DJ.  Hardly showing any of DJ live.  Jordan is clearly ESPN's boy based on this coverage.
I believe the player further along in his round gets listed first when there is a tie.

edit: maybe not since harrington is through 16 and just got to -10

Wouldn't it be awesome if Dunne and Niebrugge were the final pairing tomorrow.

If you told the field on Wednesday that after 46 holes, you were 3 back from the leader, how many would have taken it?

If you had said that after 46 holes, you could be in 26th place, on the other hand, how many would have taken that?

This is crazy

I think there are people on the board who could break par on this course today,  not me, but there are people who could

I'd be comfortable thinking I'd go under on one of the 9's. I'd gag it somewhere to mess up the total, but I think a 35/41 wouldn't be too far fetched. It's 6700 yards, no wind, greens at 9.5.

Fairways are wide. I was just wondering, if Tiger had made the cut, would he be missing the fairways anyway with all his woes driving the last few years.

If I was Tigers coach, I'd take him to a range with nothing but a driver and put two cones 10 yards apart 300 yards away and we wouldn't leave until he hit 10 in a row between the cones. I'd do that for a solid month before I'd let him think about hitting another club. I know he's got other problems, but I wouldn't work on anything until he can drive it again.

Big putt for Spieth here.

Edit: nails. Chance to post -12 now. Crazy that through 53 holes of the Open, the Slam is still very much in play.

DJ gagging but still has time to make a mini move and be in one of the last groups. He had a chance to put everyone in the rear view though. Huge missed opportunity.

-11 won't get Spieth into the final pairing. He'll probably be 2-3 shots back depending on how well Day and Willett close.

Yeah, I don't know what's going on with DJ today. Layup on both 9 and 10? What?
