I hope Tiger knows he's tied for the lead. He was the greatest frontrunner in the history of sports, and I think if he smells blood in the water, he'll put this away.

NBC is going to need to find cell phone coverage of Pepperell's final round when he wins. I doubt they have much footage of it. Too many cameras on Tiger at the range to bother covering those on the course earlier.

Tiger playing great, and getting good fortune. Two straight holes with really poor shots into the green going into the bunker and getting absolute perfect lies in the dead center of the bunker

I have a dumb question. How do caddies know exact distances to the hole/bunker/whatever from a random spot on the course? They look at a little book at magically know.

They spend hours on the course during non-playing time, in the mornings, during practice rounds, all week, marking off distances.

Edit: So for example, they'll know it's X amount of yards to a bunker or whatever, and then they'll just mark it off from there to the ball, etc.

Part of the preparation for caddies is they walk the course (in the week before the tournament) and create their own yardage books using benchmarks in the fairways and around the greens to allow them to give fairly precise yardages for every shot.
