Would’ve worked.4 Brandon Bolden runs without a fullback directly into the line?
That's an excellent answer. It doesn't necessarily "excuse" the call, but does explain it and hopefully will make people think twice before they rail against Josh in the next game thread. Here's the full answer from Josh:

He was a little spooked by the Harris TD run, even though the play was successful. He tips is hat to Johnson and Harris for slamming it in, but wasn't thrilled with the overall execution of the play stating they allowed some penetration and were "fortunate" to get it in. He says he still has to do better and wishes he did things differently, but that's a little more insight into his thought process.
Just for fun: Bledsoe played 194 career games. He had a worse passer rating than Mac’s 70.9 in 79 of them (40.7%). Different era but funny. That brings up another point - while it was arguably Mac’s worst performance of the season, he picked up a few big 3rd and longs in big spots. Love that he battled his way through erratic play and did what he had to do to help bring home a W.
I like the answer he gave, but IMO, the truthful answer if you caught him alone having a beer "We've been pounding it from inside the red zone with mixed success all year, and decided to change it up and maybe give Mac a touchdown pass. Maybe even try to get one to Jakobi." Wink. Here's the full answer from Josh:

I’ve wondered a bit over the years if Drew might have flourished if he had come into the league 5-10 years later, especially after the rule changes to open up the passing game.Just for fun: Bledsoe played 194 career games. Rookie Bledsoe had a 92 ANY/A+ and his raw numbers look like trash compared to Mac's (96 ANY/A+). The league is so different for QBs now it's insane.I’ve wondered a bit over the years if Drew might have flourished if he had come into the league 5-10 years later, especially after the rule changes to open up the passing game.
