7:00 pm start time tonight on both NESN and ESPN. I guess Ullmark's supposedly getting the start, but I haven't seen that confirmed anywhere. (Might not find out until game time.)

Let's go to Toronto up two!

Monty during his presser yesterday hinted that Sway would get the start but then walked it back a bit. Said something like how can you not give Sway another start after that performance but then did say the team had confidence in whoever gets the start. Given Sway is now 4-0 vs. TOR this season I'd continue to ride him. Don't give TOR any confidence boost by switching to Ully until Sway loses a game.

Between here and everywhere.
Another strong defensive performance and Taranna is going to start holding their sticks real tight. They're going to get into their own heads quick when the entire NHL landscape is calling them chokers.

Anyone know if ESPN is blacked out locally for this round? I know the TNT games aren't but was wondering about ESPN.

Looks like the same skaters but maybe flipping Grzelyck and Carlo.

Heinen - Zacha - Pastrnak
Marchand - Coyle - DeBrusk
Lauko - Geekie - Frederic
Beecher - Boqvist - Maroon

Lindholm - McAvoy
Grzelyck - Carlo
Shattenkirk - Peeke

I thought Brick made a good observation on Saturday that Lindholm/McAvoy might be a matchup pair for Nylander and Matthews but with Nylander out the Bruins spread those 2 apart. Nylander did skate yesterday and was on the ice for their morning skate but did not participate in line rushes.

Monty coy about the goalie, no surprise.

That was the mindset last year, to disastrous results. My preference is to stick with the program.

The Nylander thing is weird. Played all 82 regular season games and as far as I can tell didn't miss a shif/signifcant time in the finale last Wednesday. Then wakes up Thursday with something and can't go on Saturday, maybe tonight too?

Mine as well. Not that the collective "we" knows much, but the consensus before the season was that the goaltending was the team's clear strength. That turned out to be true. They were the most consistent part of the team from the get-go. Looking back at the season, that strength was maximized by alternating them. (How exactly -- rest, support, buy-in -- I have no idea). Other than the Wisdom of the Aged, I can't really see a reason to change it up now. If it turns out one of them is in a downturn, there's time to adjust.

This is going to be a fascinating game. That first goal was so big. Leafs came out with a game plan to hit everything. Usually when you see a team get burned on a counterattack because they were pinching it was pinching to keep the puck in the offensive zone. In the first five minutes of game 1, the Leafs were pinching to try to set a physical tone, and getting burned on the first Bruins shot of the game was fun. Even before the first puck was dropped, Marchand shrugging off the slash was great because it was more tone setting -- you want to do this to us? Whatever. We'll just score goals.

I don't know what you do if you're the Leafs other than to just stick with it and turn yourself into a somewhat less talented version of the Bruins. There will be some twists and turns in the series, but that was a great first period.

Hope the Monday crowd can bring it the same as a well oiled Saturday. Night crowd. Was a great atmosphere for game 1.
