The one with Volpe and Dominguez (and Judge/Stanton/LeMahieu) is the one on YES.

Rodon got #55 from Domingo German, so German switched to Adam Ottavino’s old 0, kind of bad-ass.

If Phil Rizzuto were still doing Yankee games, he’d be screaming for Volpe. Alas, Phil couldn’t live forever.

NY is tattooing Drew Hutchison in the first inning, LeMahieu, Donaldson and Florial have all homered, 6-0 and still just one out.

And Chaparro with a blast to dead center, 4th HR of the spring. He is the new Miguel Andujar, impressive bat but unclear position.

Ortega and Florial getting lots of shots too, I think only one of those two can make it. I haven't seen any reporting about whether/when Ortega can opt out, or if he can be sent to AAA, Florial is out of options.

Ortega botched a ball in CF that cost NY 3 runs, but then he had a 12 pitch AB against Nola including a barely foul HR.

Clarke Schmidt with 5 perfect innings tonight before being pulled, 5 0 0 0 0 7 on just 50 pitches.

Better now than a month from now.

If Rodon really is back before too long, German and Schmidt will be competing against each other in their first handful of real starts to see who he bumps (assuming no one else goes out in the meantime).

Volpe is hitting lead off again too. I think he has won the job and that is where we will be seeing him all year.
But which job, SS or 2B? Would be crazy to send Peraza back down again IMO.

I think they can have both guys on the roster, it’s just going to cut into the playing time of Donaldson and DJL.

Bader being hurt helps to free up the DH spot so it can work.
So you have all of Volpe, DJ, Peraza, Gleyber and Donaldson on the team for three positions plus some DH? And that's even assuming IKF is gone and Cabrera never plays IF, just seems like one of those first five needs to go in addition to IKF, DJ has a no-trade and Volpe and Peraza aren't going anywhere. Two of three of IKF/Gleyber/Donaldson need to go IMO to get both Peraza and Volpe on the roster.

You are probably right. I just saw someone break it all down on Twitter, and it provided a path for Volpe and Peraza, but now I can’t find it.

I saw that too, it involves way too much moving around and not enough consistent playing time for the kids IMO.

Last off day for NY today, then the final 9 spring games in 8 days, then another day off, then Opening Day!

Josh Donaldson has figured out the way to save his career: have Anthony Volpe hitting directly behind him. Hitting 4th today, Donaldson with two home runs, Volpe with a double, a walk and a SB hitting 5th.

NY up 2-0 on MIN on, yes, a Volpe two run HR off Pablo Lopez.
