It's not cancel culture, it's consequence culture. When you're a public figure playing word games and flaunting mandated requirements in the face of a virulent and deadly illness, and you get caught doing so, then, yes, you should expect to be called out on that behavior. I couldn't care less if Aaron Rodgers likes eating clay, snorting crystals, or doing anything else idiots do in lieu of actual medicine. But his behavior doesn't just affect himself, but everyone around him. People who may have immunocompromised members of their family. Or children too young still to get vaccinated.
And it's not like he won't still be an NFL QB this year or next. His only punishment will be maybe a weak fine and some tsk-tsking in the media. He'll get off lightly, despite his protestations, because he'll still be a white star athlete, with all the privilege that confers.
