Dear Dentist:

Stay out of the way. No songs, no awkward speeches. If you want to do something, fly in Sandra Bullock for the after party.

For old times sake can Pedro put a Yoda mask on him and tape him up in the dugout?

I just snagged two lower bleacher seats for $40.  Stoked.  As Randy Floyd would say "it's the event of the summer."

Well deserved.  At his peak, perhaps the most dominant pitcher of all time.  Has been what, 15 years since Fisk's number was retired?

There's been another retirement since.

Already have my tickets, and kind of expected this, but having it confirmed is a good birthday present one day early.  The Cooperstown weekend and this being my kids' first Fenway experience are going to make this a special few days before having to come back to New Mexico.

I couldn't imagine it not happening, but still, it's great to hear that it is happening.

Pedro was the most amazing player I have ever had the opportunity to watch.
I would actually schedule my day and my week around being able to watch Pedro's starts.

It was obvious at the time that we really hadn't seen anything like him before.
And it's getting more and more obvious that we'll never see anyone like him again.

I should have grabbed tickets this afternoon immediately after the announcement. PLENTY of seats everywhere. Now I can't get a pair.

Even my college student ticket deal is sold out. Ugh I knew I should have bought tickets for this night weeks ago.

Greatest pitcher I had the pleasure of seeing in my lifetime every 5th day. Sadly, I have no chance of making it for this. Bummed out.

Seems that there is space on the SoSH banner for some Pedro lovin'.

I bought tickets when they first announced Pedro day, it was kind of obvious they were going to retire his number two days after he went in to the Hall.

Wish I could have been there, but then so does probably 99% of this board.

If Pedro used the ceremony to announce that he was a fervent supporter of ISIS, SoSH would be like, "hmm, maybe those guys have a point".

I haven't lived in Boston for 6 years and do not follow nearly as closely as I use to, but didn't the team have a(stupid) policy that to get your number retired you had to end your career with the team?  Obviously stoked that he is deservedly getting his number retired, but am I crazy to be remembering something like that?

Made an exception to that policy with Fisk. Made an exception to their Hall of Fame policy with Pesky.  As of yesterday, they'd removed any mention of the policy from the website.  That that happened (or was discovered) on the day they announced Pedro's number going up is probably not coincidence.

Not here
As long as they keep the retired number club very small, I think the change in policy is excellent and obviously Pedro is a deserving choice.

I can't wait until we put Papi up there.

I don't know if there are any other current or recent players I'd put up there.

I just posted in the face value ticket forum that two first row section 6 EMC tix are available for this game.  As mentioned in that thread, PM me ASAP if you are interested.
