Disappointed with the guys without ties, Clay's overall style matches his beard from last year in quality (and his wife missing the extra five inches of her dress that would have made it appropriate).  Impressed with Lester, Papi, Napoli, and a few others.  Gomes crosses the line deliberately and stylishly, and I can live with it and enjoyed it a lot.

I hope we get a chance at a redo next year, and I think Papi drew enough attention away from the guys who didn't realize the difference from attending the White House and the Espys.

Now let's get back to doing something about our magic number which is stuck at 163 to clinch the AL East.

Apparently the Papi and Prez selfie was part of a deal made beforehand with Samsung. I don't know if I care at all, but Dale and Holley seem to think it's a big deal. "Cheapens" it, etc.

The White House is angry at Samsung for using the President's likeness in a promotional capacity.  Trust me, Barack, you aren't the attraction in that photo.

Disagree. Ortiz could take a gazillion pics of himself and his teammates and it would mean a lot to you and me, but a picture with the President of the U.S. "transcends baseball."

Barring proof that David sat down and planned this in detail with Samsung reps, I think the manufacturer is overplaying what happened here.  So, Samsung gave Papi some phones and 'encouraged' him to share photos from the visit on social media?  BFD.  Papi's a gregarious guy and I absolutely give him the benefit of the doubt here.

A picture with David Ortiz transcends the White House. Whether it's once or thrice.

I'll take Papi's word that he did it spopntaneously, but I think Samsung's use of it is crappy.

Being a South Korean company, they probably didn't have any reservations over US presidential sanctimony in their global-strategy meeting. Pass the kimchi.

You say Papi and Xander but Na-POLE-ee looks CRISP here.

(Maybe it's just the contrast).

I have no idea why I woke up in the middle of the night thinking of this, but, they said at the Academy Awards some of the women take a room at the hotel next door nowadays so they can get dressed there, walk over and not wrinkle their dress from sitting in a car. Look perfect for the red carpet interviews. Maybe somehow Napoli pulled the same act? No, not in Hollywood! I wouldn't put it past this guy.
