And Ivan nWant BB, Nick Caserio, Ernie Adams, Romeo Crennel, and Josh McDaniels back.
The problem with that is once we have interviews we know BB is gone. This reminds of the polls that show Biden losing to the generic Dem but beating every named Dem one-on-one (not a political statement!). Just saying that until potential successors are interviewed it's easier to be on the side of move on.
32 TBWould you rather have an age 32 Tom Brady or an age 45 BB?
The problem is a lot of people want BB as the head coach but not the GM. But that doesn't seem like an actual possibility. The problem with that is once we have interviews we know BB is gone.
And only 13% are voting "move on".
True but that's partially because the poll gives a cop out option. If the options were "Bill back in his current role with current power" versus "Bill out" you'd probably get different results. We can't know if Bill would accept a demotion but.... we kinda know. Final say on personnel was a requirement to sign him, I doubt that changed after 20 yearsThe problem with that is once we have interviews we know BB is gone.

Yes.Would you rather have an age 32 Tom Brady or an age 45 BB?
Yeah, I know that's apparently unlikely, was just wondering how many would like that. The problem is a lot of people want BB as the head coach but not the GM. But that doesn't seem like an actual possibility.
Age 23 Tom BradyWould you rather have an age 32 Tom Brady or an age 45 BB?
Hmm, but would he develop the same without Belichik... I kind of doubt it. Chicken/egg kinda thing. Belichick is a genius coach, but he'd never have had the same ridiculous success without Brady who was a perfect fit. Brady built himself into the best QB ever, but does that happen without Belichick? Doubtful. It's why all Brady vs. Belichik arguments are generally pointless, they are integral parts of what made the other successful.Age 23 Tom Brady
Yep. Brady and Belichick individually are great. Together they made the Patriots the greatest dynasty the sport has ever seen.Hmm, but would he develop the same without Belichik... Not that it would happen but if Bill were kicked upstairs to *just* be the GM a la Parcells? Are we sure it wouldn’t work?
I imagine a bunch of posters think Bill as GM without the coaching part would be a disaster – that he can’t draft WRs, has no idea to design a modern offense, etc. But is it possible that he would see the game differently without having to coach the players himself? After all, this is the guy who famously said, “At this point in my career, I only want to coach guys I want to coach” (slightly paraphrasing).
What if he didn’t have to coach them?
Despite the miserable season, and the fact. that Belichick is turning 72 in April, his desire to keep coaching has not wavered.
"No, I mean, I enjoy coaching," Belichick told reporters after the game. "Like I said, it's a disappointing season. I covered that in the opening statement. I don't have anything to add. That's how I feel. But no, I still – I like coaching the team. I like preparing the team, game planning, coaching on Sundays. But the results weren't good and none of us are happy with those."
Yes I do. Even setting aside Brady, his track record with QBs is excellent. He turned a lot of mid round picks into long time NFL players. If they draft a QB with this high draft pick, does anyone here trust him to develop the guy?
That developed under who? We assume Brady gets to the same place from pick 199 (or whatever super high level pick he would have still been drafted). This is the problem of picking Brady out of some random time in his career. A huge part of what made him him came from learning under Bill. Just as a big part of Bill came from Brady even though he had a defensive track record long before Brady came along.Yes, obviously, that's why I chose age 32.
They didn't read and realize that they had two votes. Why have so few people voted for what they think will happen?
It’s time and I think it happens. They didn't read and realize that they had two votes.
I’ve always been on the keep BB side of this. The reason I think it will hurt is because it’s easy to say can the guy when you’re in the midst of a terrible season but when you step back for a moment and it comes time to make that decision, you think…uh…wait a minute here…is this really what we want to do? And you conclude that he is still top shelf at what he does AND he’s given us so many great memories.86.8% of us want him back. This is gonna hurt.
317/254. 63 people don't wanna think I guess. Why have so few people voted for what they think will happen?
I voted that he won't be back, but maybe some people want to vote "I have no idea" and can't as it's not an option.317/254. 63 people don't wanna think I guess.
I'm not going to stand here and say there aren't problems with the roster; there plainly are. But I kind of agree with you-- they never quit on him, they won some games down the stretch with total ass QB play, and they were in a shitload of close games. They were 4-8 in one score games... if they were 8-4 instead, they'd be .500. Really hoping that all parties can get to "HC but not GM"... not optimistic though.I wanted him to move on earlier in the year if he didn't want to give up GM duties, but at this point I think he deserves another year and I think he's going to get it.
