I can’t fault Smart for taking wide open threes. The Celtics and Tatum rolling around this quarter, they got a stop ahead by eight, and instead of getting the ball to Tatum who was on fire, Smart hoisted up a three-pointer from the left slot about four seconds into the possession, He missed it, then he missed another one, and now the Celtics are in a dogfight.
When Tatum gets on a roll, he’s got to get the ball until the other team stops him. When they use help to stop Tatum, who will just pass that ball for that same three-point shot
Marcus taking threes is my least favorite part of his game. Yeah, I know sometimes he's wide open, and sometimes he gets hot, but on the whole, he does other things much better.Smart hoisted up a three-pointer from the left slot about four seconds into the possession, He missed it, then he missed another one, and now the Celtics are in a dogfight.
Sorry guys. Went down to my college homecoming and it has been ugly. Thanks for starting the threadI know RSN is supposed to do this, but he's MIA apparently? Go Celts, let's take #3 in a row!
They want to get threes in early offense, but in that specific situation after Tatum just scored three or four times, and they got a bunch of stops, Tatum’s got to touch the ball. That shot will be there if Tatum drives and the other team tries to help. If they handled those two possessions a little better they could’ve open this game up.I can’t fault Smart for taking wide open threes.
I'm just glad you're okay!Sorry guys. Went down to my college homecoming and it has been ugly. Thanks for starting the thread
I disagree with the premise that Tatum can automatically create a wide open three every time he touches the ball. They want to get threes in early offense, but in that specific situation after Tatum just scored three or four times, and they got a bunch of stops, Tatum’s got to touch the ball. He was trying to come in for a while, was at the scorer's table, but it was for JB who kept getting to the lineWhy did we bury Hauser? Seems like a good choice against a zone.
He's also been "the guy" before so he knows how to take over a game if needed tooI love having another player who can create in Brogdon.
Brogdon / Smart / White is such a great triplet to have.
Why? Why not just run every possession and shot through him or Brown. I mean I know why but its what the people want, along with not winning a championship.I disagree with the premise that Tatum can automatically create a wide open three every time he touches the ball.
I think they should consider the radical adjustment of having Smart exclusively play defense. Playing 4 on 5 is the next evolution in NBA offense. Why? Ross is a guy who will win a game with his shooting, then shoot you out of three. Very streaky.Ross averaged 10 points a game last year, shooting 29% on his threes
I think he wanted to give the Celtics a break anyways. They didn’t get back on defense and they looked tiredBad challenge.
