I don't know why there was only one day off before G4 but was reading earlier how in 2015 Kiki Vandeweghe, then EVP of basketball operations for the NBA, negotiated with the network for teams in The Finals to have two days off between games.

This applies to the season as a whole too, I always try to pace myself by trying to largely ignore it the first few months, but still I run out of steam in the playoffs.
