Those are the types of.plays where a team really had a chance to put the screws on a Brady led team, but doesn't end up cashing in on and regretting later.
Like taking a sack to take you out of FG range or lining up in the neutral zone?

Hard to imagine TB coming back given the pass protection issues but who knows. Never count out the goat.

Right now there doesn't seem to be a viable pathway for the Bucs. The Rams are killing them in every conceivable way. Then again, the Falcons were looking this good against the Pats in SB 51. And we had NO idea how the 49ers were going to pull that game out last night.

A stop on D, a drive for a TD, a Stafford pick or strip sack, Brady gets into a rhythm, the crowd is bonkers, the momentum swings and the Rams suddenly are the ones making the mistakes.

Stranger things have happened.

Def feels like TB will need a turnover, special teams TD or something, because if the only arrow in the quiver is 'sit back and throw for chunks of yardage' it's going to be tough.

I know the Pats/Falcons comparisons were fun, but as I think McDaniels said after the game which was something like (they were not being outplayed, things were just not going there way so there wasn't much to adjust).

This doesn't feel like that, the Bucs are being dominated and on top of it don't have a coach known for half time adjustments.

Does Tampa have a no-huddle-spread since or they’ve used? That’s the kind of change they need

Yes, I just said something like that to my wife.

Yes, that was a smart play. Forced the ref's hand.
Our ref can tell us but I think the way that rule works is that the play doesn’t get whistled until it is decided he is unabated. It’s not like a false start where the play ends as soon as he jumps. So you still have to snap before zero.

So delay of game is still in order even if the defender went just a bit early unless the offensive lineman jumps as a reaction.

The variable way refs call delay of game is really weak. There should be a buzzer, like the NBA shot cock.

You shouldn't get extra seconds just because.
Yeah it's mind boggling to me that for a rule that should be as black and white as this that it's essentially meant to be a judgement call. It would take so little effort to convert it to something similar to how the NBA handles it.

I agree but don’t think it mattered there. I think that was clearly delay because a defender jumping does not stop the play until the defender is unabated or the offense moves.
