Agreed. Sometimes a close game that ends in victory early in the tourney ends up being a good thing, because it focuses the team in the future games. Or maybe it doesn't matter and you just have to win. But the fact that Iowa State has played terribly shouldn't effect them in the next game should they win. I hope they don't.
