Hey now, the C's have plenty of late picks to toss away on hype.Another solid game by Labustierre.
Been a crazy week all around as #1, #3, and #4 have all lost and #2 Oklahoma was taken to the buzzer by OK State. So maybe Iowa is for real... and maybe Sparty ain't
I don't recall ever seeing this type of parity. March (+first week April) is going to be something this year. There are no top teams this year. Insane number of losses by top-5 teams this year
Isn't that the very definition of parity? It isn't only the top 20 teams either. There isn't much separating those in the 40-50 range from entering the top 20.i dont know if it's parity, in the top ~20 teams are still going to be much better than the 13-16 seeds, so early games will probably be normal, but of those top 20 teams, the odds of any specific winning will be very low.
I disagree. The college game is filled with teams even deeper than 40 who can and are winning against top 20 teams. Georgetown was a 105 last night beating Xavier. Tonight Michigan St lost to a barely 200 team. It's happening every night.Opposite. Parity within the top 20 sure, but it's 20 out of 200.
24 of the top 60 teams in the KenPom rankings are from outside the P5 conferences. The parity this year is really deep and one of the reasons why the NCAAs will be as unpredictable as ever.I disagree. There would be good players all the time if players simply stayed in college long enough.I might argue this is the least interesting, least talented and lowest quality top 25 that I can remember. I was listening to one of the Sirius radio sports stations and they had an hour where callers where asked to name three college basketball players not on their favorite teams. more than half failed. there are just not enough good players. and the coaching largely sucks. Teams like Maryland have great players thanks to UA and a garbage coach. Simmons goes to LSU to play for a bad coach. Most of the ones and does are not that great. and the migration of better coaches to the P5 conferences is just starting, so might take a while
this is the problem, right? ESPN tried so hard to make Ben Simmons the next Durant. and his team is completely unwatchable. There are no good teams this year and no stars. so the only star is the tournament and this year, when Duke, Kentucky et al are long shots for the second weekend, its gonna be tough to garner interest. They'll need some real cinderella teams me thinksThere would be good players all the time if players simply stayed in college long enough.
If the season ended today, Kentucky and Duke are #4 or #5 seeds. So long shots for the second weekend? I don't think so. And who are "et al"? UNC? Kansas? 1 or 2 seeds. So if they don't make the second weekend, there sure are likely to be real cinderella teams.this is the problem, right? The game has changed. One and Done is the norm for the best prospects so they don't get to develop into elite college players and this has changed the college landscape. With the exception of Kentucky and a select few others the better college players are 3-4 year guys who play at mid-majors or spread out throughout the country creating this parity. Unless an NBA age restriction is established the reward of a college freshman taking 1st round money to get to that second contract sooner outweighs the risk of staying in college and possibly have your game overly scrutinized costing you millions. There would be good players all the time if players simply stayed in college long enough.
He is amazing. I was sad to see him go this year.I just want to state I love Shaka Smart. He's a badass coach. That's all!
Sounds like they are self-imposing a postseason ban which is a majorly tough break for Damion Lee and Trey Lewis who transferred there for an extra year to play in the tourney and had absolutely nothing to do with the hookers scandal.Jeff Borzello @jeffborzello 11s12 seconds ago
Louisville press conference at 1:30 w/ Rick Pitino, school president and AD "to deliver an important message to the University Community."
That would be correct.Sounds like they are self-imposing a postseason ban which is a majorly tough break for Damion Lee and Trey Lewis who transferred there for an extra year to play in the tourney and had absolutely nothing to do with the hookers scandal.
Didn't Coach K ignore sexual assault allegations in the past year or two so he can win basketball games?Always amazing how well Duke can run a clean ship and compete (and beat!) all these dirty programs year after year! Really admirable of K.
