Mike on Roy Halladay today:
"Let someone else get him, I'm tired of the Yankees always getting the biggest star."
Mike on Teixeira 5 minutes earlier:
"Red Sox made a big mistake on Teixeira- Cashman staked his reputation on going after him and he won that. Yankees got the best talent on the FA market for the next 3 years."
And yet an hour earlier Mike was lecturing the class about how the Yanks shouldn't have an overwhelming salary advantage, despite the fact that they clearly do. "They have something that resembles a budget," he later admitted. Sometimes I think he forgets how wide the discrepancy is over the rest of MLB. Mike, like many Yankee fans i know, like to live in this fantasy world where they believe there is an even financial playing field except for the part where the MFY were able to go millions over even the RS contract offer for Tex. So, in his charity to the league, he and the elite Stratos cloud dwellers are willing to throw Doc Halladay to the rest of the cave mining Troglytes of the league. Gee, thx Mike! Hey, you gonna finish those all those fries?
