The Twins have a few guys who need to learn self-preservation. I'm surprised Royce Lewis isn't limping after he just "dove" with both knees directly into the turf while catching a bloop in shallow left... he left a large divot to be replaced. He's only been back for a few days after his second surgery on one of those knees.
Ah, disregard, I forgot Buxton is DH for Minnesota because he is also partly broken.
MIN amazingly lost their 3/4/5 hitters during this game, Lewis was not one of them, Kepler (migraine), Buxton (HBP in ribs), and Correa (plantar faciitis flareup). That Correa deal is looking like it could be an alltime disaster early on.
The good news for the Twins is that if the season ended today their first-round opponent would not be the Yankees. It’d be the Astros, but still!
The twins are trying to manage 2 Bentleys with flat tires by stashing them at DH and praying fix a flat will work for a broken shortstop. On a team full of mediocre players they really have no choice.
Absolutely pounded in his two starts after this, against NYY and TEX, 15 ERs and 19 hits in 7 innings, ERA up to 4.46 now.
